A "pictorial" Application Of Proverbs 29:18

As I was reading Proverbs 29:18 (Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepth the law, happy is he.) I created this picture in my mind as this verse could be applied to those news stories of removing/wanting to remove the display of the 10 commandments from public sites. Imagine a picture of a public park with a statue displaying the 10 commandments surrounded by a crowd of people. Now imagine that same scene with the display removed. Now imagine that same scene with the people being swallowed alive, dropping through the ground, into the pits of hell. To the far right of this scene is a single man standing by that same statue of the display of the 10 commandments that has been removed from the park. He is not at all happy that the crowd of people has perished, but clings to the statue in happiness that he has not perished, and in worship of the God that authored those commandments, and is totally dedicated to continue worshipping and serving that God happily. Now imagine an arial view of the United States of America, and parks, buildings, and all the other places that display the 10 commandments publicly. Some people love those displays; other people want to remove those displays. A scene in the thoughts of one of those people that loves the display might be of the USA crumbling away, people at those sites falling into the abyss below. Another scene in their thoughts might be of them holding on to those 10 commandments, and the USA standing strong, people looking up to God.
"Vision" in Pro 29:18 refers to the Word of God, not to vision people have of the future. It is referred to near the end of the verse again as "law". The law of Moses totals the 10 commandments plus 603 other laws for a total of 613. Sometimes the 10 commandments alone are referred to as "the law of Moses". So the next time you see one of those stories about removing the 10 commandments from public view think of this verse: "Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law happy is he."
