Genesis 2 AKJV

The American King James Version is Produced by Stone Engelbrite. It is a simple word for word update from the King James English. Care was taken to change nothing doctrinely, but to simply update the spelling and vocabulary. Grammer has not been changed. manner you wish: copy it, sell it, modify it, etc. You may not copyright it or prevent others from using it. You may not claim that you created it, because you didn't.


The copy of the AKJV on the Internet that I was using, unlike the print-out Pastor Dan Newburn handed out to the Tuesday Bible Study on Psalm 90 on 5-8-15, prints the text with the numbers/address of the

verses all over the page, one verse following on the same line as the previous. I prefer how Pastor Dan

had the numbers down the left column of the page, with verses all beginning at the left column.


In the AKJV old English is updated to modern English such as the list below.


“Whosoever” is changed to “whoever.”

“Unto” is changed to “to.”

“Thou” is changed to “you.”

“Believest” is changed to “believe.”

“Brethren” is changed to “brothers.”


There may be some significance in Rev 11:17 where the AKJV may use all caps for “LORD” to refer to other than Jesus, and the KJV doesn’t use all caps, to refer specifically to Jesus.

Seeing the test verses I use didn’t seem to show any major, significant changes,

I thought I would use the same verses to compare the Holman Bible and the KJV,

and below is what I came up with.




In Ps 12:6-7 HCSB shows preservation of people rather than Scripture.

6The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times.h 7You, LORD, will guard us;i You will protect usj from this generation forever.k HCSB

In Pro 18:24 HCSB has a man with friends in danger of being harmed, rather than a man that desires friends needing to be friendly.

24A man with many friends may be harmed,ag

HCSB (Red letter edition) leaves out the last 11 words of Matthew 19:9.


9And I tell you,whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another,commits adultery.”k,l HCSB


9And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. KJV


HCSB leaves out the last 6 words, speaking of the coming of the Son of man, in Mt 25:13.

In Mk 2:17 HCSB has a call to sinners, but leaves out that it is to REPENTANCE!

In Mark 6:11 the HCSB leaves out Jesus’ words of Sodom and Gomorrha. Gays might approve this.

Mark 9:44,46 are included in the HCSB, but followed by the letters “da,db,de

I couldn’t find what those letters stood for, but they may cast doubt on these verses.

In my hard copy the text is in brackets with a footnote saying “other mss omit bracketed text.”

These are “Alexandrian” (corrupt) manuscripts.

Of course the KJV includes these type of verses with no footnotes necessary.

The on-line version of the HCSB, the version many read other than a hard copy, has no brackets.

In Mk 16:9-20 the HCSB on-line does not put this in brackets, but does have this footnote:

“an. 16:9-20 Other mss omit bracketed text”

The hard copy does have the brackets.



In Lk 2:33, rather than using the name “Joseph” the HCSB calls this man “father”.
The issue being Jesus’ true Father (God), and step, or supposed father, Joseph.

The name can be translated from Hebrew יוסף יהוה yosef YHWH as signifying "Yahweh/Jehovah shall increase/add". The name appears in the book of Genesis: Joseph is Jacob's eleventh son and Rachel's first son, and known in the Jewish Bible as Yossef ben-Yaakov.

Look what the HCSB leaves out at the end of Luke 4:4



4But Jesus answered him, “It is written: Man must not live on bread alone.”g,h,i HCSB

In Luke 4:8 the HCSB didn’t want to include “Get thee behind me, Satan.” Satan would not have either.

8And Jesus answered him,n “It is written:

Worship the Lord your God,

and serveo Him only.”p





8And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.


In John 3:7 the HCSB gives a good footnote that the second “you” is plural. (Not referring to Nicodumus, but everone.) Most people don’t understand this from any version unless they truly understand KJV. Note in white below.

Just a comment to why the King James use of the thee, thou, etc is very important. In old English, thee, thine, and thou is singular, while ye, you and your are plural. In modern English, "you" can be either singular or plural.
When reading the King James, by understanding thee and ye, I can immediately tell if the pronoun is singular or plural.
In John 3:7, I can immediately tell from the KJV that it is plural or universal. The Lord Jesus is not directing His statement only to Nicodemus, but He is making a universal statement to everyone: "Ye must be born again." You can only tell this from the King James Version.
If you look at the previous verses, you can tell that the Lord Jesus is speaking only to Nicodemus:

In John 3:15, unlike the KJV, the HCSB does not speak of anyone perishing.

John 5:4 receives a footnote from the HCSB “e. 5:3-4 Other mss omit bracketed text”

as do the following 12 verses: 7:53-8:11 (The story of the woman taken in adultery.)

In John 16:16 the HCSB neither tells us that Jesus is going, or Who He is going to.

How much greater the KJV paints the Lord Jesus, than does the modern version of the HCSB!!

In Acts 2:30 we see that the HCSB has left out another important piece of information, that Christ would sit on the throne of David!


30Since he was a prophet,he knew that God had sworn an oath to him to seat one of his descendantsac, adon his throne.ae HCSB (One of his descents? Which of his many sons? Christ!)


30Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; KJV


In Acts 3:26 some modern verses like to call God’s Son Jesus just “His Servant”.

(One might see this as modern, higher scholarship that might sound convincing, yet is the choice determined by a bias for or against Jesus as the Son of God?)

The HCSB leaves out a couple of things in Acts 9:5,6


5Who are You, Lord? ” he said.

“I am Jesus, the One you are persecuting,” He replied. 6“But get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” HCSB

5And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 6And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. KJV

Romans 14:9 might seem OK in the HCSB, unless you think Jesus should be referred to as “Lord.”
A person that dies today on the sidewalk and is recessitated could fit the words used in the HCSB.
The KJV is not much clearer, but rising from the dead after a burial and being Lord not just over the dead, but the state of death itself is what should be understood.

9Christ died and came to lifep for this: that He might rule over both the dead and the living.q

9For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

In Ephesians 3:9 the HCSB stops short of saying God created all things “by Jesus Christ:”

9and to shed light for all about the administration of the mystery hidden for ages in God who createdi all things. HCSB

9And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: KJV

In Eph 3:14 the HCSB again leaves “our Lord Jesus Christ” out of the picture, out of the text.

14For this reason I kneelq before the Fatherr HCSB

14For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, KJV

In Col 1:14 the HCSB leaves by what we have redemption through, Christ’s blood.

14We have •redemption,ae the forgiveness of sins, in Him. HCSB

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins. KJV

Want to show the deity of Jesus Christ? HCSB in 1Ti 3:16 won’t do it, but KJV will.

16And most certainly, the mystery of godlinesst is great:

Heu was manifested in the flesh,v vindicated in the Spirit,w seen by angels preached among the nations, believedx on in the world, taken up in glory.y HCSB

16And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.


In 1Pe 1:22 we can see the the Holy Spirit (Spirit) has been omitted by the HCSB.

22Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:


We have seen Jesus omitted, the Spirit omitted, and now all three of the Trinity omitted in 1 Jn 5:7.

Which, and how many elders are missing, and who did they worship? The HCSB does tell us in Rev 5:14.

14And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that

liveth for ever and ever. KJV



Rev 11:17 leaves out “the Second Coming of Christ” when it doesn’t say “and art to come” in the HCSB.

taken Your great power and have begun to reign.aq HCSB

Rev 14:5 omits “before the throne of God” in the HCSB.

With all these omissions it seems to me that the HCSB looks like Swiss cheese in comparison to the KJV.

If Satan had to hand a Bible to someone that would only have that Bible do you think he would hand them the KJV because it is not “dumbed down” for them to understand in modern English, or would he hand them an HCSB that often leaves out

the preservation of the Scriptures

the Son of man,

repentance,

Sodom & Gomorrah,

eternal torment in hell,

Christ’s relationship to the Father,

the Word of God,

Satan,

mankind’s need of being born again,

people perishing,

adultery

angelic ministry,

Christ’s ascension

Christ upon the throne of David,

Christ as God’s Son rather than servant

Christ’s resurrection

Christ’s reign

Christ as Creator of all things

God being Christ’s Father

Christ’s blood

Christ being God,

the Holy Spirit,

the Trinity,

who the “24” elders worshipped

the blood of Christ,

Christ Himself,

Scripture,

the Second Coming


All of the above has been omitted in some 35 test verses, and there are over 200 verses that can be used to test modern versions, and find these things and more, because most modern version are based on Alexandrian manuscripts rather than Syriac manuscripts. Because these verses are scattered throughout the New Testament (and a few in the O.T.) they can be easily overlooked by the untrained eye. To point out a verse or two to someone might not impress them much, but to see all of these verses above, and over a hundred more like them should be an eye-opener.

Like some ask of the universe itself, did these modern versions all just come about by chance, by man’s ineptness, man’s sinful nature, or was there an intelligent design; evil, Satanic, intelligent design behind this, using man as his scribe, just as God used holy men as His scribes (2 Pe 1:21)?
