  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Bad Parents?

It seems like most people my age that I know well who are good people have horrible parents or guardians. I myself have bad parents. Sometimes when I see someone with good parents and a good loving family I almost don't believe it because the idea of having loving, supportive, godly parents seems like a complete myth. No one is perfect of couse but I just see so many bad parents out there. I can count on one hand the amount of people I know who have good parents.

I just wish we all had good parents who loved and cherished us as their children and didn't abuse us or put us down or make us feel like we're nothing. Parents that build us up and when we are down, comfort us and show sympathy, empathy, and compassion.

I just don't understand why so many young people today have such hurtful people as parents to them. :(

I pray that God will bestow good parents on all future children that are born into this world so that they don't have to go through the pain and suffering us children of bad parents had to and still have to go through.
