That infilling of a mighty rushing wind brought about an unprecedented awakening in the history of humanity. Blown upon by the Holy Spirit the church blew upon the world till they got to a place they were tagged as men who 'turned the world upside down'. The Holy Spirit sat on them and gave them a seat among men. That's what he does: when the Holy Spirit sits on you He gives you a seat among men. The once dead church came alive in the open with the power of God!
This 'mighty rushing wind' was reminiscent of the wind that blew in the valley of dry bones! Ezekiel prophesied to the wind in Ezekiel 37:9-10 and as he did, the wind came, the breath of God was unleashed and a mighty army was born!
‘Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So, I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army’ Ezekiel 37:9-10 KJV
A church that has been breathed upon by the Holy Spirit will command the attention of the world! "Now when this was NOISED ABROAD, the multitude came together"(Acts 2:6).
Noise of spiritual exploits will always make the crowd gather!
Blown upon by the Holy Spirit the church blew upon the world till they got to a place they were tagged as men who 'turned the world upside down'.
So, it is not advertisement the church needs but endowment - heavenly endowment in the form of the anointing because the anointing is self-announced. When the apostles got the infilling, it was noised abroad. Same with Jesus in Luke 4:14. ‘And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.’
Thank God for the internet and the social media, but nothing goes viral like the wind of the Holy Spirit blowing across the lands! The breath of the Spirit will gather 'quails of men' from all over the land! (Numbers11:31)
Without twitter or Facebook, the early church filled the land with the word of God. Acts 5:28
‘Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us’
The church doesn't need innovations as much as it needs unction! Unction that comes by supplication!
