Paul didn't tell women to 'shut up', he told them that when they are 'in the Church', (gathering), to remain 'silent'.
lol. That may have been reasonable advice in that situation,
but Paul didn't intend his advice to a peer to become part of scripture.

Here we go again.
Why does one need to be 'homophobic' to read and understand what the Bible says about homosexuality.

One doesn't, one only becomes a homophobe when one tries to vilify and castigate those that are homosexual. I suggest you read 1 Cor 5:9-13 to see what Paul is teaching in regards to sexual immorality. It has no place in the church whatsoever but what Paul does teach is that all we are to be concerned about is what lifestyle tries to invade the church. What happens outside the church is not our responsibility. God will judge those outside of the church and we can take care of what goes on inside the church. As far as I'm concerned all your rhetoric is against those that are outside of the church so in my opinion it basically amounts to hate mongering.

Sinners can't hear the word of God so easily if we keep them outside the church on Sunday.
Even gay people.

1 Cor 5:9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— 10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister[a] but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.

There is additional advice which applies to Paul's comments:

Proverbs 10:12 - Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.
In Context

Proverbs 17:9 - Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.
In Context

1 Peter 4:8 - Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

All believers are the church. The church is not a building or an institution. Sinners hear the good news as we fulfill our responsibility to go out into the world and preach the good news to them. Where we gather on Sundays is our place of assembly and it is considered part of the church. The problem with many Pew sitters today is that they think the church is a field where they can bring people into it to get saved and that is not what the church it is. The church is a force that is meant to go out into the highways and byways and look for the lost to show them the good news of who Jesus is. Once they accept that message they become part of the church and we bring them into our local congregations. That was always Jesus' intention. The 3000 that were added to the church on the day of Pentecost we're not brought to a building or a place, they stood out in the open and Peter preached to them. That is our scriptural example. If one is not willing to go out into the highways and byways and bring these lost souls in then one does not have the right to speak against them, especially in a modern democratic Society.

Hmmm. So the 3000 no longer had sin in their lives, or they didn't intend to sin any more,
or they didn't sin any more....or...what exactly made them any different from the rest
of the world? According to Josh McDowells research, there is no notable
difference today on marriage, abortion, etc.

Nonsequitor as that wasn't the issue I was addressing. Actually I haven't read Josh McDowell's research so I have no idea what exactly it is about, and regardless, this is about the relevancy of the church today.

I'm addressing the topic you brought up which is germane to the OP.
"... the lies we're told about Homosexuality."

What most uneducated people do not clearly understand is "ALL" sexual sin is VERY BAD.
Nope. Only non-monogamy and promiscuous sexual behavior has any
effect on others inside or outside of the union of two people.

You're actually changing the subject, as the topic is about the homosexual agenda. Regardless, the 3000 people were added to the church, so they became part of the church. Nobody's ever advocated that born-again believers don't sin, at least those who understand what the scripture says about that issue.
1 John 2:1
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

Bible teaches differently. The Bible teaches that there is sexual immorality inside of marriage and that we need to avoid those type of marriages.

Mr. Weston explains how the homosexual movement was a CAREFULLY CONSTRUCTED PLOT executed perfectly by individuals who ADMIT to using PROPAGANDA to LIE and promote their agenda!
So I watched sections of the video and narrowed in on the scripture
as much as I could find (very little).
The word "homosexual" never came on the screen.

A Bible study shows it comes up twice.
Once listed with "liars" another with
"thieves" and the "greedy".

I agree that promiscuity and non-monogamous behavior
is a harm for all involved. Sexual orientation is not.
I'm afraid it got lumped in with those things that
men FEAR like guys who are effeminate. Yikes!

I'll admit, effeminate males make my stomach curdle.
But that was when I was in boy scouts. And he
was part of the troop. We had to put up with
lots of odd boys in scouts.

Paul made a mistake lumping in sexual orientation
with promiscuity. Sorry mistaken people.
Effeminate boy scouts were not products of the
evil culture that existed in the 1960's.

OK...but Paul says we should not be seen with those sinners. And never potluck with them ever.
So on what basis is he determining the good Christians from the evil ones?
Our goal here is to spot my evil cousin and her agenda. (job, family, friends)
Spot my neighbor agenda. (tidy home, lawnchair, neighbors)
Spot those gays agenda around the corner (house, fishing boat, pets)

Please note that being disobedient to your parents is in the same category.
Fire balls from the sky is past due for many high schools.

I concede that "Rob" accross the street does not help
push cars when they get stuck in the snow.
"I don't do that." he says, almost effeminate.

Actually he is saying that those type of people if they refuse to repent and be instructed or not to be considered brothers or sisters in Christ and as such should not be treated as so, which in those days included eating together in Fellowship. Our example should be Jesus and how he witnessed to the unsaved. He didn't wait for them to come to him he went to them in wherever they were gathered. Now I'm not advocating going to gay bars in case that your initial thought but I am advocating that we make attempts to be friendly to these people and to influence him and whatever way we can. This is the rule for all unbelievers not just gays. I don't really care what the gay agenda is or what they do out on their own in their community or in my community for that matter. My responsibility as a Christian is to pray for them to witness to them and to be friendly just as Christ would be.

Let me offer this:

The very first time I hitchhiked as a teenager, a random stranger picked me up and immediately asked me if I wanted him to perform a sex act upon me. I freaked out and started screaming at him to stop and let me out. He did.

I have been to public restrooms with all sorts of perverted writings on the walls. I have read about the 'bathhouses' that led to so many homosexuals dying of AIDS back in the eighties. Homosexuals, from all my encounters are not 'normal'. I have never had a woman pick me up hitchhiking and immediately propose 'sex' to me. Nor have I have ever seen perverted writings on bathroom walls from women. Don't recall ever reading about 'women's bathhouses' where one rents a towel and then just 'joins' in the 'crowd'.

The 'idea' that homosexuals are 'just like everyone else' is not what I have personally witnessed. They had to close down a 'park' around the corner from my house because the 'city' could not control the 'homosexuals' using the bathroom as a 'meeting place'. I have 'never' witnessed heterosexuals being responsible for 'closing down a park' due to their insatiable 'lusts' that they are incapable of controlling. The city sent undercover cops down to the park and homosexuals were soliciting them for sex. Randomly. Soliciting basically anyone that used the restroom. They arrested them and posted their pictures on the wall outside of the bathroom. In less than a month there was no room to post any 'new' pictures' so they started stapling them over others.

Anyone that doesn't recognize this as a 'SICKNESS', in my opinion, isn't even worthy of any sort of statement concerning such behavior. Such behavior is unacceptable to anyone that has any sense or propriety whatsoever. Like uncontrollable animals 'burning in their lusts'. You know, like stray dogs that jump on the back of any other that doesn't 'run' fast enough to 'get away'. And then do their best to try and convince others that 'it's really not like that'. It's just a matter of sexual orientation. No it is not. It is a 'perversion' or 'inability to control one's own lusts'. No one is 'BORN' homosexual. Every man that has ever lived has contemplated homosexual acts. Most 'reject' them. Resist the Devil and he will 'flee'. But a small portion, (which seems to growing at a tremendous rate), do NOT reject such thoughts but 'entertain' them. To the point that they begin to 'burn' in their 'lusts'. Once on fire, nothing is capable of quenching that fire but to fulfill the 'lusts'. That is 'homosexuality'.

We are commanded to 'overcome' such 'lusts', not fulfill them.

The Eagles once wrote a song called 'Hotel California'. One of the last lines of the song is: "you can check out anytime you like but you can never leave". While this isn't an 'absolute', it certainly speaks volumes concerning those that refuse to 'overcome' their 'lusts'. The deeper one allows their personal lusts to lead them, the harder and harder it becomes to 'overcome' those very lusts. One must wonder, how far can one sink into the appeasement of their own personal lusts before it is 'all but impossible' to every 'go back' to a place with them ruling one's very life?

Blessings,

MEC

Pointing out that homosexuality, according to the Bible, is an abomination against God Himself has nothing to do with 'being nice'. Political correctness is 'of this world'. There is nothing offered in the Bible instructing us to be 'politically correct'. It's all there in 'black and white'. And it doesn't take 'hatred' to point out to our 'brothers and sisters' that homosexuality is an abomination.

Romans 1:

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

This offers that to condone or agree with such behavior, we too are worthy of nothing short of 'death'.

Paul offers that we too USE to be like these. An obvious indication that once one is 'truly saved', they no longer place themselves in such a position. Once one becomes 'saved' they become 'separate' from those that continue to 'live in their sins'.

And I don't think that either God or Paul concerned themselves with those that may take offense to such offerings. You know, the truth often causes offense in those opposed to it. Go snitch a senator out for taking a 'bribe' and see what reaction you get. Tell a man's wife that he's cheating on her and I don't think he'll take kindly to it. Those that live their lives through lies often can't stand the 'truth' in any form. They 'make up' their own 'truths' according to their own design. It's called: LYING. And those living their lives in lies often 'hate' the truth. That really isn't a concern with those following in truth. Many followers of Christ were put to death instead of allowing others to force them to deny their God or His Son. And many today will be persecuted for adhering to the truth when the rest of the world will insist that they accept the same 'lies' that they have. Won't be or isn't a surprise to me. Just a 'sign of the times'.

Blessings,

MEC
