But back to my original thread and latest updates, I think the Israel thing is likely a no-go. The January weather is a bit X-factor for us. Looking at alternatives now....

I meant to tell you this in another thread, but I am also married to a Filipina. I am actually half Filipino myself, but I was born and raised in the US. I don't know Tagalog.

To answer your original post: if I had a blank check to travel anywhere, I would probably go to The Holy Land with my family.

That must've been a major league lifestyle shift going to Vietnam after having been raised and born here!? Why do you stay over there if you can live in the States? We'd love to have you back, man!

My dad was in Vietnam in 1966....not just a visitor....he was carrying an M14. ^_^:sorry:

Thanks! I do miss the US a lot. However, it's just not a good place to be as an educator right now. Education is highly politicized and educators are often the scapegoats. As an international school principal, I have an opportunity to do the things that I could only dream of doing in the US.

However, I would not mind moving back for a couple of years for my children to experience the US. They are American citizens, but they have never been to the US!
