Wow! I'm jealous... I have to get out more
Interesting - to me.I've always gotten along with Asians, most of the ones I know tend to be quite traditional culturally and in their thinking so i can relate. This one section of Queens which is now all Chinese and Korean it feels like home. No joke, I've never frequented bars never liked them, but these karaoke Asian bars I'd probably be there all the time if I started.
Interesting - to me.
This is kind of weird really but ... my husband is Asian, and I had a number of gentlemen who were interested in me while I was single. All but one were Asian. And there aren't that many Asians around me, nor did they know each other and came from several different Asian cultures. And I didn't initiate any of them. I know my daughter thought it was quite strange and that I was purposely pursuing Asian men, but I wasn't. Race doesn't matter greatly to me but my "preference" is actually for other types. But I've always wondered what it apparently is about me that seems to draw Asian men. And they didn't need to marry me for legal status either.
But something in the basic part of our personalities does mesh well, except that I like to discuss feeling more.
I tend to get lost in the brash Greek crowd at Church, but I do love them dearly. I'm just different on a very basic level.
That's funny - we have that in common then! All this time and I had no idea your husband was Asian! Funny thing is, I’ve only been out with three girls in my life—two were Filipino, one Thai. I must be the other oddball on this forum with ya?!
Up until my husband, all my boyfriends (though I didn’t have manyThat's funny - we have that in common then!
I have puzzled over it for years, but I suppose it must be something in my personality that works that way. i don't think it's physical type because they all lived in the US and didn't date around.
I didn't know that about you though. I'm tempted to ask if it's something about their personality you are attracted to but I think that might be getting too personal. I don't really know any Asian women anyway, other than my husband's family. Most of them aren't too happy with me anyway, because I'm not Asian, but one of his sisters is very friendly to me.

Haha - yes, a lot of my crushes when I was young were Hispanic/Latino, or a couple of other nationalities/races. If I were going by that inclination, that's where I'd be. (Catholic??? Actually in fact one man I dated a few times years ago gave me info on Catholicism because I would have to become Catholic for him to continue the relationship, but it ended for other reasons.)Up until my husband, all my boyfriends (though I didn’t have many) were Hispanic or Latino. My husband is Slavic (Carpatho-Rusyn region) so it matches my change in faith as well, lol, since my church has is background from the Slavic countries.
Kate’s family isn’t exactly heading up the Gurney Fan Club of the Philippines, let’s say that!
Being married to a foreigner can be a trip sometimes. You find out that different cultures really are....different!

I didn't have many actual boyfriends either because I married very young.
I don't think I was attractive to Asian men then. Only after I grew up I guess lol.
I had assumed your husband's heritage and you being Orthodox were either because he introduced you to the Church or else you met him through the Church. I guess I never actually asked you.
Yeah, I can relate to that! Putting it mildly lol.
It's probably worse for you being a man though.
Ummmmm yeah! Very much so! I've learned a lot of things I wouldn't have known otherwise. Some things I really appreciate culturally and are good. Some can be ... well, a good source to learn patience. I'm trying to be nice lol.
I would go on an ancient pyramid/palace/temple/petraglyph tour. Egypt, of course, but also India, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Easter Island, etc. I've never had a hankerin' to travel per se, but I do want to see those ancient monuments.

Lol, even the little things slip me up, with them randomly using Slavonic words when talking to my godson (nephew), the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in Slavonic (which I always forget), “Dont put that in your gombushe!” And many more that I can’t remember right now!Kate’s family isn’t exactly heading up the Gurney Fan Club of the Philippines, let’s say that!

I have learned better to be quiet too.The “patience” thing you mentioned plus custody of the tongue I have worked hard on lest we look like the WWF in its heyday! I don’t have the energy to be Ric Flair!
I’m being silly. We don’t fight much because we bite our tongues, both of us! LOL
I'm a yankee now living in the south. Married to a southern belle. Does that count?
