hi there. i am curious. i want to find more and more about religion in general. i find all religions interesting i am getting to know more and more about them.

i however would also like to hear personal testimony, just a paragrappth or so. because i would like to know how your religion has changed your ife and stuff :)

just like alot of people i beoleive god is the most important thing in the universe. so i find it important to find out more about what others believe. i know personal testimony does not prove any religion. i beleive in the bible and jesus. but am still itnerested in others.

sorry make that clearer.... explain why you choose your religion

i choose christianity. i was never bought up as a christian. in actual fact my mother went to church for a year and a half when i was about 10 and doesnt go. nor does my sister, or dad now. but i was very depressed and angry. one day i went to church when a friend who asked me. nothing much happened but after a week i asked god "ifhe is real and loves me will he show me himself". i then on my bed felt a very powerful presense suddenly. and i felt a very strong peace and calming. i then randomly asked god for forgiveness and got very emotional and started crying. it felt the best thing i had ever felt even better than getting drunk, or any kind of sins i did that used to make me feel good. a couple weeks later i accepted jesus and i felt another presense and purity when i did. that is one reason why i beleive what i beleive.

ohh, that's cool!!

i choose christianity, because i have studied lots of religions, and feel that christianity is right. i was agnostic, then i thought i was jewish, and it just went on and on.. but the reason why was because i had studied all these religions but didn't even know about my own.. so finally i bought a Bible, and read about Christianity, and was like "why was i going to turn my back on this religion?" so now i'm a proud, ultra liberal christian. :)

i'm not messianic anymore, but...

a messianic jew is someone who is a Jew, but believes that Jesus was the Messiah.. However, they still use the Torah and the laws of the Torah, and celebrate Jewish holidays, and so forth.. But they also celebrate Chrsitmas, and use Chrsitian holidays. They are known as "Christian Jews" very commonly, or sometimes "jews for jesus" or something.

the only major difference between a messianic jews and a christian is a messianic jew still believes in the laws of the Old Testiment.

I chose Thelema because it's where I ended up, basically. I started off as a Celtic pagan, got interested in ceremonial magick, got interested in Aleister Crowley, and ended up a Thelemite. Though, admittedly, a lot of the theology of Thelema makes me scratch my head. But the magickal practices are good meditative exercises on the nature of deity.

Religiously, though, I often find myself more in agreement with Judaism. May just be a cultural thing, as most of my family is Jewish of some stripe or another, outside of my mom. My dad was born Jewish by law (Jewish mother), but was raised Methodist. But the Jewish portion of his family was always the nice section, and my sister ultimately converted, and she's been a major influence in my life.

I'm, at best, a continual seeker, looking for a place which speaks to me, and as of yet not finding it.

i was always a very spiritual child, had always felt i was living in the time that would witness Christs return, raised Catholic and was content in that belief except for one nagging thought in the back of my mind, that i was taught that only Catholics would go to heaven and all others would go to hell. that just didn't make sense and i couldn't reconcile that teaching with an All-Loving God. How could God condemn someone who had never heard of Him? Or someone who was born into a family and raised in another religion. Just didn't make sense no matter how i looked at it.

my first encounter with the Baha'i Faith was when i was 9 or 10 years old. Listening to my sisters "Seals and Crofts" album i noticed some of the lyrics were taken from the Baha'i Sacred Writings. I ran around the house asking everyone what it was, and noone knew.

19 years later...I applied for a secretarial position at a Community Action Agency. I felt the interview went will and was optimistic as to the outcome. I received a call saying I did not get the position but would I come in to interview for the position that was vacated by the person who did get that job. I went in for the interview. I felt it went even better than the first and I knew when I left there that I really wanted this position. I went home feeling confident and nervous at the same time. So I closed my eyes and prayed "Dear God, if it be your Will, may I please get this job" Instantly I knew I had to write a letter saying how much I would enjoy the job and promised they wouldn't be disappointed. So I did. A few days later I received another call. This time saying, "when can you start?". So I began my new job in November -92. I was now clerical support for the Iowa WIC Program...we would set up mobile clinics in nine Iowa counties. I used to be on the WIC program with my children and always thought that I would enjoy that position and now here I was...It was fascinating to me that this was not even the job I originally applied for. My co-workers were all quite spiritual people, 3 Catholics, including myself, Several other Christian denominations and 1 Baha'i. I didn't realize she was a Baha'i until some time later when one of my Catholic co-workers said "Don't mind Janet, she belongs to this weird religion, and doesn't eat for long periods of time." Of course that peaked my curiosity so one day when Janet and I were working together alone I asked her what religion she belonged to . She told me she was a Baha'i and told me a little about it. I recognized the word Baha'i and asked is she had any literature I could read. A few days later she brought me "Thief in the Night" by William Sears. I couldn't put it down, this was all so incredible, I set out on a thorough investigation. I read everything I could put my hands on. The principles of this faith were everything I had always believed in, I just hadn't known the source of my beliefs. Now I did. I signed my card in March '94. Janet later told me that Jan (our boss) had decided to hire another lady, but didn't call her right away as she usually did. She procrastinated just long enough to receive my letter and called me that night. It's still so amazing to me how things worked out. If I would have gotten the job I originally applied for, I would never have gotten to know Janet. It is so Awe-inspiring to actually witness His invisible hand at work.

very interesting.

indeed i have always been interested in things such as magic. not that i beleived before, however before i was a christian i was interested in some of things from satanism which is an actual relgion. some of the things i strangely wanted to come true such as destruction. and i beleived for some reason beelived some of the things it said and had a couple dreams about the end of the world... rather distrubing. it did change when i became a christian. and i do beleive people can do things such as magic, however i do not agree such things are acceptable.

and i think Baha'i is muslim?

i do not believe for one second that what cathalics believe that everyone who is not a cathalic is condemed. indeed where is the god of love. (no offense to cathalics) but indeed the bible quite clearly states as what jesus said "those who accept the son of man have eternal life". simple as, i guess.

:)
Can we be human yet have the "spirit" of the "Creator of All" in us?

Proverbs 1:23 Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.

Romans 8:9 Yet you are not in flesh, but in spirit, if so be that God's spirit is making its home in you. Now if anyone has not Christ's spirit, this one is not His.

Make that NEW COVENANT Judaism or as Paul calls us "The "spiritual" Israel of God" but only if one believe Jesus is Lord of the New Covenant of course.

Jeremiah 31:33 That this the covenant which I shall Cut with house of "Israel"after those the days declares Y@hovah. I give law of me in them and on heart of Them I shall write her and I become for them Elohim, and they shall become to me for people.

well if you truely accepted jesus at the time, then yer you could say that. as god is a god of mercy and grace. its one way to look at it. but then who would want to live life to the fullest?

if jesus is the son of man then to continue to follow him you would be living life to the full.
