Which machine? I use 7 units on my network.

I have various processors back to 75 MHz pentium to 1.2 GHz Using all kinds of OS including Win xx, linux, msys, and NT/XP variants. RAM ranges from 64 mb t0 1/2 gig. Disk from 484 mb to 120 gb. All shared wireless except the older boxes which have a wire interface to the central router.

Floating IP addressing with Hardware firewall as well as software firewall on each discrete unit. Everything is ghosted and can be reproduced in a half hour. I also have several units too old to bring online, but I often use them to support older code.

I'm a coder, so I have need for lots of toys.

*Intel Pentium M Processor @ 314mhz - 1.5ghz
512 MB Ram
Intel 2200b/g mini-pci wireless
14" TFT LCD @ 1024x768 32bpp
60gb Hard Disk
Intel Extreme Graphics 2
Centrino Mobile Technology
Less than an inch thin and 4lbs light w/ 4 hours battery life.

*Allow me to explain what Centrino Mobile Technology is. You can't open up a laptop and say "hey, theres the Centrino", it doesn't work like that. It is more of a certification, like a crash test rating is for a car. To be "Centrino Certified" as I call it now, you have to have a Pentium M processor, and an Intel Wireless Card. The Processor can throttle itself on the fly down to really low clock speeds on the order of 300mhz or so, thereby reducing power consumption and extending battery life. I believe the wireless card can also regulate transmit power to conserve battery life.

Bahaha. Old, he says =;P

This is 'sparta', my main workstation.
Pentium II 400MHz
384MB RAM
48GB total hard disk space (40 IDE, 8 SCSI)
GeForce4 MX (64MB AGP)
SoundBlaster Live!
Adaptec SCSI card (can't recall the particular model)
FreeBSD 5.3-RC1

I've had this for a little over a year, and still have no urges to upgrade. Old(ish. For example, my laptop is a Pentium 120) computers are amazing =:D
