I don't have many... I have a hard time getting into shows unless. Here is my very very short list of my favorite TV shows ever...

1. Jim Henson's The StoryTeller (technically I think it was part of the Jim Henson Hour but oh well). Mostly like this for the craftsmanship and creativity and I always loved folk tales.
2. Farscape... I haven't even finished this series but so far I love, love, love this show! And I don't like space sci-fi stuff much but this is good.
3. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles... was canned way too soon and even though the final episode set up for another season, it was a decent episode to end the series on.
4. Highlander: The Series... Would have liked this more if the episodes were not so episodic and more serialized. I liked a lot of themes brought up and stuff and it's a fun show but... needed story archs that covered at least a whole season or two.

You aren't. I was quite disappointed by the finale and the way the "flash sideways" were explained, but that doesn't remove "Lost" from my all-time-favourites list.

So, here goes:

1) Lost (excellent characters, wonderful plots, great mysteries - and not so great solutions for the same, if any)

2) Battlestar Galactica (the re-imagined series, not the 1979 Star Wars-ripoff); I haven't finished that one yet, and I've heard the finale's not exactly gold, either, but that cannot spoil an otherwise excellent series: again, multi-faceted characters and plot lines abound.

3) Babylon 5: another series I never really finished, but definitely one that needs to be on this list on account of introducing extended plot lines spanning several seasons. The special effects look extremely cheesy in retrospect, but that cannot really distract from just how epic this series was.

4) Veronica Mars: she's got to have a place here, if only to detract from the fact that almost all series on this list are of the mystery/sci-fi kind. Brilliant dialogue, great characters, and the first season really excelled at building up a season-wide story arc.

5) Firefly: another one that got cancelled too soon. This series held lots of Whedonesque fun, and it was one of the few that actually insisted on not having sound effects in space. Lovely!

6) Twin Peaks: what can I say? I have a soft spot for the genius of David Lynch. Just because it's surreal doesn't mean that it doesn't make any sense.

7) Buffy the Vampire Slayer: hey, my screen name is an homage to one of the show's female lead characters , so you should have seen this one coming. I always liked this extended allegory on facing the horrors of the teenage years and coming of age.

8) Rome: now THAT was an excellent mini-series! Titus Pullo rules!

9) The X-Files: I didn't follow that series slavishly, but I was quite fond of it back in the 1990s.

10) The Simpsons: no list is complete without the yellow family. Great satire on the American way of life.

For me, it was mostly about hot guys taking their shirts of. WOW.


Ooh, I can't believe I forgot about V-Mars! I freaking love that show. I'm a sucker for witty remarks. "annoy, tiny blonde one! Annoy like the wind!"

Veronica and Logan are epic.

I don't have many favorite TV shows, but some of my favorites include, in no particular order:

1. Kathy Griffin: My Life On the D-List - Kathy Griffin is a brilliant comedian who will do almost anything for fame. Combined with her wine-loving Irish mother, this is one of the best and funniest reality shows out there.

2. Whose Line is it Anyway? (American version) - Four guys doing improv scenes and songs. Canada, you have something to be proud of for once. Namely, Colin Mocherie. The only downside of this show is the presence of Drew Carey. He simply isn't funny when he does improv.

3. The Office (American version) - Do I really have to explain this one?

4. Everybody Loves Raymond - Again, kind of self-explanatory.

5. Home Improvement (the series starring Tim Allen) - Tim, Earl Hindman, Patricia Richardson, and Richard Karn and their characters were the reason this show survived as long as it did. The plots weren't that inspired, but the characters and the writing were.

6. Monk - This show brilliantly combined the "whodunnit", CSI/Law & Order, medical dramas, and comedy. The character of Adrian Monk was and is one of the most lovable on television.

7. King of Queens - As with Home Improvement, the characters were brilliant, as were the writers of the show. The plots were limited, mostly revolving around the main characters job as a security guard.

8. America's Got Talent - I just love watching and listening to most of the contestants. The amount of talent that goes through there is phenomenal. I do NOT envy the judges.

9. The Colbert Report - A brilliant satiric news show. Stephen Colbert is more thought-provoking, not to mention funnier, than Jon Stewart.

10. Comedy Central Presents - This show highlights the funniest up-and-coming comedians. If you want a good laugh, tune in.

In the non-fiction category, I really love the BBC.

Have I Got News For You: Paul Merton is my hero. I love his dry, surreal jokes and his absurd non-sequitors.

QI: Stephen Fry is in it. need I say more?

Never Mind the Buzzcocks: Although I like the guest presenter thing, I miss Simon Amstel, one of the few hosts willing to degrade his guests. Normally I'd object to it, but he's impossibly funny. New that he's left I'm rooting for Frankie Boyle to take over.
