By natural sciences I mean math, physics, chemistry, biology etc. Engineering qualifies I should think.

I listed my PhD as "NOT in natural sciences," but going by your list I guess it qualifies.

Did a PhD in organic synthesis with a dash of enzymology. Then did some work in drug discovery and some work looking at natural product synthesis. Currently working on biofuel production and fine chemical isolation from plants.

There are more people with advanced degrees here than I expected. At least so far. Where are the creos on this though? I have my expectations with respect to that, but... Well, it will still be interesting if some of them post here.

PhD in experimental particle physics; now a geneticist.

How did that transition occur?

I suspect you're getting a sampling error from the "toot my horn effect" ;)

Echoed! That sounds like a somewhat unlikely and quite interesting transition!

most likely. That's why I made it an anonymous poll. But I almost regret that as I get rather curious ;)

Actually it was physicists that cracked the human genome, so I'm not sure that the transition is actually quite as unlikely as appears.

Haven't graduated with a physics bachelors yet (working on it), but intend to eventually get a Ph.d. I'm thinking of adding a mathematics major, but I'm not sure if I can get enough financial aid. Either way I'll still graduate with a minor in it like every other physics major.

Good luck to everyone working on a degree, and hope you enjoy getting it!

Any moment now, someone is going to say "PhDs can take a hike."

Yeah. Well, it's not like it's a lot of work to get an advanced degree, is it?

Well, I had a lot of fun, but yes, it's hard work.

By the way, I wonder if there are any advanced theology degrees in this community? They're hard work too. Guess we'll see.
