I do think if Ron did the work to find those websites and then linked to them here for you that you should probably go read them if you haven't.DynamicDrummer said:Oh and by the way, I'm done! No more for me. Take care Ron! I hope to see you also in heaven when all is said and done!![]()
The following is some info I found on Missler. Tell me if you still agree with him on everything he says:DynamicDrummer said:Any Theistic Evolutionist heard of a man by the name of Chuck Missler? Anyone have anything against him? Probably because he is one of the men that take the bible very literally. He is a very intelligent man and I'd have to agree with Chuck Missler on everything he says.
I perfer to ride rooftops instead of fences.Underdog77 said:Thank goodness for this thread! I was just about to post one calling out for YEC's. I too am a YEC and tell you the truth, its saddening how many 'christians' aren't. I believe that you can be a Christian and believe in evolution or OEC. But I also believe that OEC/evolution is detrimental to the authority of the Bible which, in turn, affects the validity of the need and plan of salvation.
I don't enjoy seeing people ride the fence especially when they proclaim to be christians. This hurts the christian cause and also makes it hard for true believers to debate matters.
I also believe that the Bible is the Word of God. It is infallible and completely perfect and true.
I hope to see more interaction between YEC's. Communication is vital in the fight for the cause.

Wrong thread to be doing this but... The Bible clearly states that it depicts a literal 6 day creation (you may a debate about this in the Creation & Evolution forum). If evolution was to be found correct then it would contridict the Bible, the Bible would be found to be wrong, and if people saw it was wrong in one part then they would begin to distrust other parts.boughtwithaprice said:how is evolution detrimental to the authority of the Bible?
the same thing holds true for saying that the earth was created relatively recently. All of the scientific evidence points to the fact that the earth is over 4 billion years old and there has been life on earth for over 1 billion years. All of the items by ICR, AIG, Kent Hovind, and all the rest, which say different, have been proven wrong many times over.GodSaves said:And let me say one more thing. If one saying they are a Christian, and turns to another Christian and says, you are a YEC, why don't you believe the earth is the center of the universe, you are causing great harm to Christianity as a whole. To make this statement think what you are really saying. That one who is dedicated to Christ and believes in a young earth creation, must believe that the earth is the center of the universe which proves that the Bible is a lie. And if the Bible is a lie, then all one has believed in is false. I am sure this isn't what is meant, but this is the implications of that statement.
God Bless

Don't get me wrong, I don't believe that evolution can PROVEN in any way. But if it were or if people believe it has been, then the Bible loses its infallibility.
A classic knee jerk? Or maybe just truth.Chi_Cygni said:Ah - the old slippery slope argument - a classic knee jerk from fear.
WHAT!boughtwithaprice said:Do you see that this is only your interpretation. If evolution were to be proven true, and it most likely has, it is only your view of God that disappears, not God Himself. The Bible was never meant to be a stand alone document, it is not written that way; it requires context to give relevance.
Genesis was most likely written during the Babylonian captivity, and Genesis 2 appears to be an older story that Geneis 1. It bears very close resemblence to the Babylonian story of creation that was prevelant during the time, yet the Character of God presented if Genesis is in stark contrast to the God(s) of the Bablyonians. Genesis is a story of God who loves His creation and interacts with it; the Babylonian gods were aloof and uncaring. Genesis was worded in the way that it is, in order for the Israelites to compare and contrast the Character of YHWH, with that of the Babylonian gods they were being taught of in captivity. It is not meant to be an exact scientific representation of HOW God created the earth; it just says that He DID it.
You are making the Bible out to be more than it should by making the whole existence of God stand or fall based on YOUR interpretation of how the bible should be used. I was where you are, so I know how you feel, but I want you to know that there is nothing to fear. God is bigger than His creation and He is in control.
Consider what the bible says
Jeremiah 31:34
"They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them," declares the LORD, "for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more."
Jeremiah 31:33
"But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days," declares the LORD, "I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
It does not say wait until I finish writing this great book that will contain everything that I want you to know, and any apparent deviation from it will cause me to cease to exist.
The bible contains the words of God, but God is not contained by it. The bible is true in its context, but should not be made to say what it does not.
This is extremely doubtful to the point of being ridiculous.Underdog77 said:The Bible says one thing and if another is true then we have no assurity in what the validity of the Bible. If this isn't true tell me and I will show you otherwise.
