  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Oh DEAR - now that is completely beyond the paling even.

Susan Rockwell says she wanted to be a Roman Catholic priest, but church doctrine wouldn't allow it. She became a lawyer instead, and is now suing the church in federal court for violating her right to free expression and religion. She also says the federal government illegally subsidizes such discrimination by exempting the church from taxes.

Well now. I don't believe that women should be prohited from positions of authority in the church at all at all. Not in the least:

BUT
The woman is attempting to interfere with the rights of the Church of Rome to ITS freedom of expression and of religion. Why not counter-file? Did Rome act to prevent her from establishing her own church, or going to another church the which will ordain a woman? It has rules of conduct - if she isn't happy to submit to those rules, she is entitled to take her business elsewhere.

This lawsuit crosses the lines of separation of church and state.
