I wrote this song/rap for my boyfirend so just to let you know it's really kind of sad-ish, and it's pretty intense...
Down on your knees you pray each day,
"Mommy come home, God please,
show her the way."
But it only seems like god Just can't hear,
he turns away from you with a deaf ear.
And no matter the pain you have,
no matter the tears you cry,
you can't bring her home,
and you don't understand why.
Eight years from now,
only fourteen,
you're growing up so fast,
life seems to be so mean.
You stumble and fall
and got no one to hold onto,
cuz seems like the only one in the world,
happens to be you.
And you've given up hope,
he's not really there,
cuz if he was,
he'd show you he cared.
So you turn to what you have,
if it's in front of you,
then you know for certain that it's true.
And you tell me love me,
you tell me you care,
and I promise to you I'll always be there.
But can you honestly tell me,
that my name carved on your arm,
means you're okay,
and not falling to harm?
You slice and you cut,
you bleed and plead,
but no matter the cost,
you won't listen to me.
He's there and he's true,
can I get through to you?
If you'd just listen to me,
you wouldn't have to bleed.
I see the scars on your arm,
just like me,
you're resorting to self harm.
I gave it all up,
gave it all to you,
but now you're doing,
what you forbade me to do.
And I stand silently and watch it all,
but sooner or later I'll loose my balance and fall.
Cuz my hands just keep itchin' to grab that knife,
keep itching to relieve my strife.
But I made a promise that I'm gonna keep,
even if the pain cuts me for true and real deep.
Why can't you just put the needle* down,
I'm so tired of your promise spinnin' round.
Baby can't you see what you're doing to me,
it doesn't matter anymore,
I just can't see you bleed!
I stand silently by,
you look over at me,
but somehow you miss the tears that I cry.
You slice and you cut,
you bleed and plead,
but no matter the cost,
you won't listen to me.
He's there and he's true,
can I get through to you?
If you'd just listen to me,
you wouldn't have to bleed.
Cuz if you keep crying and pleading,
you'll only keep bleeding,
and I just can't stand by and watch you die,
and it's all I can do not to cry.
You slice and you cut,
you bleed and plead,
but no matter the cost,
you won't listen to me.
He's there and he's true,
can I get through to you?
If you'd just listen to me,
you wouldn't have to bleed
You slice and you cut,
you bleed and plead,
but no matter the cost,
you won't listen to me.
He's there and he's true,
can I get through to you?
If you'd just listen to me,
you wouldn't have to bleed
Why won't you listen to me?
I just can't stand to watch you bleed.
You're makin' me hurt and makin' me fall,
just turn to god,
you'll stand so tall...
If you'd just listen to me,
baby I wouldn't have to watch you bleed...
This pain is tearin me apart,
can you see what you're doing,
inside my heart?
A river of tears that I cry,
each night praying to God,
that you don't too desperate,
to just want to die.
You slice and you cut,
you bleed and plead,
but no matter the cost,
you won't listen to me.
He's there and he's true,
can I get through to you?
If you'd just listen to me,
you wouldn't have to bleed.
You slice and you cut,
you bleed and plead,
but no matter the cost,
you won't listen to me.
He's there and he's true,
can I get through to you?
If you'd just listen to me,
you wouldn't have to bleed.
