you remember who Boris Badinoff is
you remember when a bottle of pop was a dime
you and your friends collected pop bottles to get above money for pop
you were'nt afraid to play in the back yard after dark without an adult 3 feet away
you had 2 channels on tv and it was black and white
Saturday night TV was Lawrence Welk, the Brady Bunch, The Odd Couple and Love American Style
hair dryers had a hood

I realized I was getting older when I started hearing Eagles songs on the 'oldies' stations. Also, when I say to my sister (who is 14 years my junior) 'when I was your age....'

You hated being disciplined as a child but when you're in public and a kid is really going nuts you think to yourself "I wish his/her parents would do something about that little brat!"

You remember when teachers/principals were allowed to discipline kids (I wish they still could!)

45's/8-tracks
turntables (not used by rappers!)
The SNL Not Ready for Prime Time Players
The Muppet Show
Computers were only something the 'rich kids' had
leg warmers
really big hair
the beginning of the fitness craze (aerobics!)
There weren't 30 NHL teams
Appliances and home fixtures were brown, or a puke green. Throw in some orange or bright yellow for the wallpaper
You remember "Miracle on Ice" before having seen the movie
New cars were less than $5000
board games (checkers, Life, Chutes and Ladders, Battleship)
You remember when cartoons made sense and were just 'fun' to watch

You know you are getting old when...
some of the best shows to watch especially on the weekend are from TV Land and Nick at Nite.

Such as Addams Family, Cheers, Family Ties, Green Acres, Happy Days, I Dream of Jeannie, MacGyver, Mister Ed, Munsters . . . Full House, Who's the Boss, and Wings.

Some others they have had in the past are Petticoat Junction, Beverly Hillbillies, and That Girl.

I don't have kids to scold but earlier this year when I really started hardcore househunting I found this one property that I liked (until I saw the inside of the house! lol!) and made the comment to my friend that I 'could see flowers here and there' and realized that comment is exactly what my mom would say! She is a flower junkie! I never considered myself to be one but......

you remember when:

home phones were rotary dial and not 'cordless'.
There weren't a zillion different area codes in your state.

most highways/interstates were one/two lane instead of three and four lane

returnable Pepsi bottles

Sports/music arenas weren't named after some huge corporation

2 aspirin took care of everything

I knew I was old when my kid thought it would shock me to hear 'Led Zepplin.'

Hey, remember when John Lennon said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus? The tables turned though. Most kids I know, if asked about the Beatles, think I'm refering to a bug....which is just what my parents thought, once upon a time.

I knew I was 'over the hill' the first time I saw a really good looking guy in his twenties and thought 'Gee, I'll bet his mom's really proud of him!'

Elvis Presley and the Beatle's were considered 'radical beatniks that were going to ruin the world' by your dad.

Home phone number had LETTERS in it and the guy next door kept hogging the party line.

We were really impressed with Hi-Fi Stereo.

Zip Codes had two digits.

All girls wore dresses to school all the time.
