When some people of this generation have not been on as many o/seas holidays as the younger people of today and have learned as a Child to do without many luxuries often without complaint. Well, at least 50% as a guess unless working and travelling. Debatable this comment I suppose.

You remember when gay meant happy

a mouse was a rodent that needed eradication

the phone was black and had a dial and there were party lines (and you actually know that a party line is not a line that people are standing in to get into an actual party!)

you blushed when someone said "with child" (preggers came later)

you stood up when an older person walked in

a joint was a rather seedy bar

profanity was not acceptable

most of your statements start with "I used to...."

you had to use a slide rule

you know what a little crystal radio was

TV's had glass tubes and only black and white and maybe 3 stations---free

remote was someplace faraway and rather lonely

you really did use 2 cans to jam your feet into and walk on for fun

thread came in wooden spools that were used with a rubber band to make toys

you could walk to and from school without fear of being abducted

you were allowed to play in the street with your friends until called to dinner

you got your information from an real encyclopedia and dictionary

typing was done on a typewriter

there are many more--
like no pantyhose, stockings only and girdles and one cutting board was used for everything
