How am I contradicting myself? I have never said that "love God" isn't the greates commandment in the law.
What's the contradiction here, exactly?
holo what does dead to the law mean?
Are you dead to the greatest commandment?
Marc
I answered that here:You say you are dead to the law. But you say that the greatest commandment is love God. But you said you are dead to the law, the greatest commandment.
Marc
No, Marc, I am not subject to the greatest commandment. I'm not subject to the least commandment either.
So, yet again, my answer to The Question That Refused To Die is still... "no."
The mosaic law was given to Israel only, as the bible says, it is for the wicked and ungodly, as the bible says, so obviously I as a saved, born-again righteous person cannot be under that law.
Actually, it is;
For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 20I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
HOW?holo, holo you said you are NOT subject to the greatest commandment. But you say it is the greatest commandment. Seems contradictory to me.
And I answered. The greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart etc. I am not under the law. That means I am not under the least commandment, I'm not under the greatest commandment, I'm not under the second greatest commandment, I'm not under the 463th commandment. I am not under the law. When you are not under the law you are not under neither the least nor the greatest commandment in the law. Do you understand that? You are not under Japanese law, for example. That means that you are not under neither the smallest nor the biggest commandments of the Japanese law.Mosaic law? I didn't ask about the Mosaic law, I asked about the greatest commandment.
YES. YOU ARE CORRECT.So just to reiterate... you are NOT subject to the Greatest commandment am I correct?
Yes Marc, you are correct. It doesn't matter to me which commandment is the greatest, because I'm not under the law at all.So you say that the greatest commandment is love God but yet you say you are NOT subject to it am I correct?
No, I am not subject to the greatest commandment. I am not subject to any other commandment in the law either.holo there is a big difference between being under the law and subject to the law.
I asked if you are subject to the law and you answer you are not under the law.
I DIDN'T ask if you are under it.
ARE YOU SUBJECT TO THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT?
Marc
No, I am not subject to the greatest commandment. I am not subject to any other commandment in the law either.
I'm not under the mosaic law. I don't love God because of some law, and neither do you. We love Him for one reason only: that He loved us first.OK thanks for answering so that means that since you are not subject to love God then you are not of the Spirit and are carnal as Paul says.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God
Marc
I'm not under the mosaic law. I don't love God because of some law, and neither do you. We love Him for one reason only: that He loved us first.
What a way to drop the bomb!OK thanks for answering so that means that since you are not subject to love God then you are not of the Spirit and are carnal as Paul says.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God
Marc
OK. I'm not subject to the law. Here we go again holo. I didn't ask if you were 'under the law' I asked if you are subject to the law(the greatest commandment). Why do you keep answering that you are not under the law when I'm not asking if you are under the law but subject to it(the greatest commandment).
And I didn't ask if you were subject to or under the mosaic law I asked if you were subject to the greatest commandment.
Youur answer is I'm not under the law. So I ask you again are you subject to it like Pauls says you are that's if you consider yourself of the Spirit.
Marc
Holo no one is saying we love God because of the law but it is because we love God that we keep the law or to keep it simple the greatest commandments. What i am saying then is that because we love God we keep the greatest commandments which is to love God. You on the other hand say you love God but you are not subject to love God. If God does not want us to Love him then what kind of God is that. God will never save those who do not love him. We are saved by grace through faith but obviously love comes into play. A sinner who loves God will accept God's grace but a sinner who does not care about God will reject it.I'm not under the mosaic law. I don't love God because of some law, and neither do you. We love Him for one reason only: that He loved us first.
There you go. mpossoff has used the text again and again that says that the carnal mind is not subject to the law of God but the spiritual. You seem to pass your eyes over that text and not comments on it but instead you keep using the text that says that we are dead to the law. You are therefore just taking what seems to support your view and not bothering with other scriptures. You are filtering the bible to your liking. You also ignore this passage.OK. I'm not subject to the law.
It's not like you don't know what I mean, anyway. And anyway this whole idea about there being a difference between being "under" the law and "subject" to it is YOUR idea that only matters in YOUR theological universe. The bible makes no such distinction. If you're dead to the law, you're obviously not "subject" to it.
God wants me to love Him freely and voluntarily, not because I'm ordered to.
amen, just as He freely and voluntarily wants you to walk a holy and righteous lifestyle according to His beautiful marriage covenant with us!
anyways, just curious, what do you think we'll be doing in the Kingdom?
We will be following God's rules, God's Law, God's commands when the Kingdom is established here for 1,000 years according th the Scriptures.
Just wanting to know what your perspective is on that. Isaiah 2 says that all nations will come up to the Mountian of the Lord to learn His ways and out of Zion will go forth the Law.
