According to the Gospels (Luke) Jesus commenced his ministery at 28AD.
Jesus ministery lasted 2 years making his crucifixion by 30AD.
Everything match.

Three years is the usual thinking, although some feel it was only one.

There is few internal evidences or clues:
1 - The Gospels account a total of 3 Passover. The first being at the very beggining of the ministry (John), and the third being the Pasion. That elapse 2 years.

2- The Gospels describe the original ministry as one year ministry; but at the end of that time, Jesus requested from the Father a extra one year extention.

3 - A good hermony of the Gospels acommodate all facts in 2 years, not 1 nor 3.

4 - The reconstruction of the Jew Calendar in combination with the accounts of the Pasion, makes fit the year 30 as the perfect match.

The RCC is right. There are a lot of factors to consider that are often ignored. Jesus was about thirty when he began his ministry. His ministry lasted about three plus years. If he died in 33AD then he was born in 1AD. There was no census that year because it happened in 3BC. That makes it 30AD. Herod died in 1AD so where do you put the 2 years and under of the Magi? God gave Israel 40 years to repent beginning at the cross and he destroyed them in 70AD - 40 years. The edict was given in 457 BC which calculates out to 30AD also.

457 B.C. is the correct year but 69 weeks of years is a total of 483 years which brings us to 26 A.D when He entered Jerusalem (the Triumphant Entry) at 30 years of age. According to the feasts in John His public messianic ministry lasted 3 1/2 years until His crucifixion. The difference of the four years (30 years old in 26 A.D.) was due to the error of Dionysius.

So the year IMHO was 29 A.D. ...what is more interesting is that if He was crucified on Passover at 33 1/2 count backward a half year to the month of His birth according to the Hebrew calendar...

Hmmm?

What year do you believe Jesus Christ was crucified?

Growing up in the RCC we were taught that 30 AD is the year of His crucifixion.

I still believe that is correct year based upon several sorces. I am curious as to why and when you might think or believe it is another year.

Shalom

Herod the great die in 4BC Christ was born in about 1-2 BC but I believe in 2BC. it was the month of Sukkot the feast of the tabernacles during this time Christ was born there was no room at the inn because of this feast.
During Lambing season around August

Luke 2:8
Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.
Newborn sheep were born during the night Lambing season coincides in Christ birth around August Lambing season

John 1:36 And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, "Behold the Lamb of God!"
there were shepherds during Christ birth
John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
