Some of the newer games like F.E.A.R....theyre a pretty close match

I wasn't talking about specific games. I mean that if you bought a $400 PC, it could not perform nearly as well as the Xbox 360 does right now.

BTW, I have played FEAR a bit.. I've been considering buying it actually. I'll probably wait til it drops in price though. One thing I appreciate about FEAR is that, unlike some other newer PC FPSs I could name, it actually runs remarkably well on significantly lower end machines if you turn down its settings.

Theres NO game that a console can run that a PC cant.

Completely irrelevant. I could name hundreds of console exclusives if I felt like it. The only way the PC will ever get them is many years after the console has died when emulation for that system is decent. To me, the most important factor is the games.

The 360 DOES NOT support MMORPGS, RTS, City/Empire Building,

It CAN. In fact, there are strong reasons to believe a number of MMORPGs will be coming to the 360.. Rumors abound. MMOs, while not a genre I particularly like much, actually are good canidates for consoles. They're well-suited to the TV+couch setup that is typical of console users. They also don't really need a mouse to function fine. Just because games haven't come out yet doesn't mean they won't. There could easily be any type of game on the 360, it is just a question of if and when - just like the PC.

There are many genres that are weak on the PC as well. For instance, all types of platformers, Japanese-style RPGs, tactical strategy games (I'm referring to tactics games like Disgaea, not turn based strategy in general), light gun games, puzzle games, side scrollers of any type, shooters, rhythm games, etc.

But, of course, it all comes down to the games, for me at least. The games I own which are console exclusive for my current systems:
Alien Hominid
Metroid Prime 1 and 2
Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee
Pac-Man VS
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes + MGS3
Resident Evil 0, 1, 4 and Dead Aim
TimeSplitters 2
Tales of Symphonia
Medal of Honor Rising Sun
Eternal Darkness
Ico
La Pucelle Tactics
Zone of the Enders
Shinobi
Dino Stalker
DDRMax2
Mark of Kri
Twisted Metal Black
Time Crisis 2 and 3
Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick

There are many others (you should see the number of strange Dreamcast exclusives I have). In the end, consoles are the only way I can play the games I like the most. Much as I love FPS games, and I used to love RTS games (still play StarCraft sometimes, but newer ones I haven't liked much), the majority of the best games for me are on consoles *ONLY*.

No amount of mentioning PCs advantages in other areas can possibly change this.

Final Fantasy X1 is releasing for 360, Marvel's super hero MMORPG is being developed for it as is Vanguard: Saga of Heroes (most likely). I've read that they are looking at porting World of Warcraft but I'm not sure if that has broken down or even went past the rumour stage.

I hope that they do include (or leave in, anyway) kb/m support as it would make the game easier for some people to play. Of course it would be easy to make a workable menu system for an MMORPG since you are only controlling one character, as opposed to an RTS, which can't be made serously playable without kb/m.

Face it, the 360 is stronger, better, and it costs less than any PC out there!
Plus it's more convienant, and no worrys about bugs and stuff messing with the game.

Mod, shmod, if the reinvented games were so good, then why don't the game makers create the game like that?
There are plenty of great options in games already. A 10th way of playing the same game is not necessary.

On a side note, I just enjoyed 8 straight hours of gaming!!
I'm getting this game called Geometry Wars, this game is like a classic arcade game, Astroids basicly but much much better!
And the graphics! It's like watching a fireworks show, the graphics get a 10.
Basicly you're flying a ship that has unparalled control, it moves silky smooth!
With some extreme fire power.
You have to shot those shapes(circles, triangles, squares, etc) it get's very hectic, very fast! But you have a steady stream of fire power, that progresses as you make higher scores.
All while pumping out some great mellow techno music.(options you can adjust the volumne)
That game costs 5$. I downloaded a demo of it, and it rocks!

Wow..now I KNOW you don't know what you are talking about :) A 10th way of playing the SAME GAME? A mod isn't even the same game. Let's take Unreal 2k4..which has RPG's, strategy games and other games which are NOTHING like the game they are based on.
Battlefield 1942...a mod called Desert Combat...it played NOTHING like the game it was based on...all new weapons, all new weapons, new game types, new textures, new EVERYTHING. Mods are totally new games that are absolutely nothing like the original game.

Infact..Desert Combat had more players than Battlefield 1942 (the game it was based on)

Take a look at Red Orchestra..a WWII (the best..even better then CAll of Duty 2 multiplayer) mod that uses the UT2k4 engine...but was so different from the original game you would never have known it was a mod.

Battlefield 2..which I own...Point of Existance, Eve of Destruction and a WWII mode are all coming out for it...completely seperate games with all their own unique graphics, gameplay, etc..the only thing they use is the engine..but everything else is the same...hey look..I just got THREE quality games for the price of one. :)

There was even a Halo mode for Unreal. Turned the entire game into Halo multiplayer...only 10x better. More vehicles, more weapons, better graphics.

In summary...mods are not playing the same game a different way...mods ARE about playing a whole new FREE game. Mods are often better quality than most FPS console OR PC games because they don't have to work under money management like developers do...these guys can take their time and do it right. So you get a better product, and it's NOTHING like the original game.

Want to toss one last thing in...Desert Combat...you know..that MOD...had more players than Halo 2. :) It's believed Point of Existence may very well beat those numbers that Desert Combat had. (can't remember exact numbers..I just know that it had WAY more players...and it's a free mod)

You guys are hopeless :(

What is it with boys and their gaming systems? Why pay several hundred dollars for a new system when I already have more games than I have time to play for my PS2?? Why do you all have to be so busy competing to have the best system that you forget to enjoy whatever it is that you do have? Or are you all just that spoiled?

I have a PS2 that I got for Christmas three years ago. Between me and my four siblings we own less than ten games for it (granted we do rent games a lot). And we survive quite nicely. Nobody have ever implied that we are either deprived or stupid for liking out PS2 just the way it is; problems and all.

Because hey, what's personal about a gaming system if it doesn't make it's own unique set of noises and have it's own set of problems? ABSOULTLY NOTHING!!

I just went to Circuit City and asked if they had an Xbox 360 in stock. I laughed half way through my sentence, and the other guy just said "no" and laughed as well. I'm hoping I can get one before the Playstation 3 comes out, because it seems from slashdot articles that the 360 is no where in sight. I don't reserve, and that's probably a habit I should get out of, but where are the profits if consumers can't find your product? I know they're trying to crank it out, but people who still have reserves haven't gotten theirs yet. Sheesh. My hopes of getting one soon are nill :(

Microsoft is probably doing what they do with window see the thing about windows 95 is it has like 10'000 bugs built into it by microsoft so after a while your PC gets buggy and you have to get window 98 but in windows 98 they only eliminated maybe 400 of those bugs and made 200 more just so they could say they made it better in the adds then they eliminate another 400 for XP and add 200 more I would not be surprised if you see Xbox 360s breaking down in a couple of years and microsoft then fixing them for a nominal fee.

...this is what more or less what happened with the PS2 (though I don't think Sony did it on purpose), and as I recall, they ended up on the losing side of a lawsuit. Well, settled out of it anyway. They were charging $80 or so for DRE repairs, plus you had to pay shipping, then there was a lawsuit and they started doing it for free. MS can't afford to do something as stupid as that, since they need to build a userbase.

It rarely matters. Just about the only time is when systems launch, and I had a friend who fully payed off his Xbox 360 reserve and still didn't get one. Even if the shipments hadn't been cut in half, he STILL probably wouldn't have it.

Man they must have made a fortune on that.
