Some of the newer games like F.E.A.R....theyre a pretty close match
I wasn't talking about specific games. I mean that if you bought a $400 PC, it could not perform nearly as well as the Xbox 360 does right now.
BTW, I have played FEAR a bit.. I've been considering buying it actually. I'll probably wait til it drops in price though. One thing I appreciate about FEAR is that, unlike some other newer PC FPSs I could name, it actually runs remarkably well on significantly lower end machines if you turn down its settings.
Theres NO game that a console can run that a PC cant.
Completely irrelevant. I could name hundreds of console exclusives if I felt like it. The only way the PC will ever get them is many years after the console has died when emulation for that system is decent. To me, the most important factor is the games.
The 360 DOES NOT support MMORPGS, RTS, City/Empire Building,
It CAN. In fact, there are strong reasons to believe a number of MMORPGs will be coming to the 360.. Rumors abound. MMOs, while not a genre I particularly like much, actually are good canidates for consoles. They're well-suited to the TV+couch setup that is typical of console users. They also don't really need a mouse to function fine. Just because games haven't come out yet doesn't mean they won't. There could easily be any type of game on the 360, it is just a question of if and when - just like the PC.
There are many genres that are weak on the PC as well. For instance, all types of platformers, Japanese-style RPGs, tactical strategy games (I'm referring to tactics games like Disgaea, not turn based strategy in general), light gun games, puzzle games, side scrollers of any type, shooters, rhythm games, etc.
But, of course, it all comes down to the games, for me at least. The games I own which are console exclusive for my current systems:
Alien Hominid
Metroid Prime 1 and 2
Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee
Pac-Man VS
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes + MGS3
Resident Evil 0, 1, 4 and Dead Aim
TimeSplitters 2
Tales of Symphonia
Medal of Honor Rising Sun
Eternal Darkness
Ico
La Pucelle Tactics
Zone of the Enders
Shinobi
Dino Stalker
DDRMax2
Mark of Kri
Twisted Metal Black
Time Crisis 2 and 3
Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick
There are many others (you should see the number of strange Dreamcast exclusives I have). In the end, consoles are the only way I can play the games I like the most. Much as I love FPS games, and I used to love RTS games (still play StarCraft sometimes, but newer ones I haven't liked much), the majority of the best games for me are on consoles *ONLY*.
No amount of mentioning PCs advantages in other areas can possibly change this.
