I used to have lots of pain with intercourse and during pelvic exams. My midwife always told me "Wiggle your toes!" which sounds ridiculous, but it really did help to relax me.
I have lots more I could add on the issue, but probably none would be helpful to you. The pain with sex didn't improve after two babies, but now that my "baby" is 5 I've managed to overcome it.
