How is that a strawman? So you think you are an expert on ancient Hebrew? Were you there 2000BCE? With Abraham? At Mt Sinai? It is very easy to say this or that or it is a mistranslation without proof...so far I have seen none from you...the only reason you have texts is because Jews wrote them down throughout history.Another strawman.
Not all Jews know Ancient Hebrew.
Begging the question? Really? So you think you are an expert on ancient Hebrew?
If you go back and read carefully; you should be able to find it.It is very easy to say this or that or it is a mistranslation without proof...so far I have seen none from you...
yes I am. Easy out...I can post stuff from the internet too...whatever...think what you want...Begging the question? Really?
If you go back and read carefully; you should be able to find it.
HA! Nice edit ex post facto.the only reason you have texts is because Jews wrote them down throughout history.
No I was actually likely editing while you were responding... Exodus In Hebrew or in English??? What about it?HA! Nice edit ex post facto.
I would encourage you to read Exodus 6: 16-20
YesExodus In Hebrew or in English???
Moses wasn't a Jew.What about it?
What is your point? Because I said Jews wrote it? Neither was Abraham, but we are all related to him. Hebrews, Israelites, Jews, scribes, you know what I meant...they all were at Sinai and it came down through them...Yes
Moses wasn't a Jew.
You said:What is your point? Because I said Jews wrote it?
False.the only reason you have texts is because Jews wrote them down throughout history.
Those words have different meanings. That's why different words are used.Hebrews, Israelites, Jews, scribes, you know what I meant...
Falsethey all were at Sinai and it came down through them...
Are you serious LOL! You know what I meant LOL. Ethic Jews of today are related to those at Sinai in some way. Whatever...You said:
False.
I try to avoid making absolute statements.
Those words have different meanings. That's why different words are used.
False
Not all of them.
This is another absolute statement.
No I don't.You know what I meant
I am not going to play your games. You know what I meant...texts did not appear out of thin air...No I don't.
What did you mean?
How about we start with you defining the word "Jew?"
That's right. Some of them were written with Yah's finger.I am not going to play your games. You know what I meant...texts did not appear out of thin air...
That's right. Some of them were written with Yah's finger.
The Levites were charged with preserving and teaching Yah's word. The Masoretic text varies and excludes books of that which was preserved by the Zadokites.
Where what all came from?We both know where it all came from.
Again I avoid making absolute statements. Do you have a specific question that is relevant to the topic of this thread?Do you believe all they believed?
Texts. You brought them up (Sadducees/Zadokites).Where what all came from?
Again I avoid making absolute statements. Do you have a specific question that is relevant to the topic of this thread?
All of the texts did not come from the Jews, no matter who you define them as; and no, I didn't mention the Sadducees. I haven't read all of the texts from the Zadokites; and again, I try to avoid making absolute statements. Much of what I've read from them has little to no relevance to the topic of this thread. So far I haven't seen anything from them that would raise serious questions in my mind, as do many of the writings of the Pharisees. Not only does the Talmud sometimes contradict scripture; but it often contradicts itself.Texts. You brought them up (Sadducees/Zadokites).
It may have been translated that way but maybe it should have been translated as men of a name. One person saying it is a mistranslation don't make it so. Considering that even from 225 BC it was translated "men of renown." or something similar.
I hate to interrupt but that's not true. And it is documented, even in the NT.Are you serious LOL! You know what I meant LOL. Ethic Jews of today are related to those at Sinai in some way. Whatever...
How many semesters of Biblical Hebrew have you had which qualifies you to contradict ancient sources? As pointed here הַשֵּׁם would be pronounced ha as in hat, shem as in them.It may have been translated that way but maybe it should have been translated as men of a name.
But instead it should be men of thename.
The word is הַשֵּׁם so can easily be pronounced phonetically as hashem
