How is that a strawman? So you think you are an expert on ancient Hebrew? Were you there 2000BCE? With Abraham? At Mt Sinai? It is very easy to say this or that or it is a mistranslation without proof...so far I have seen none from you...the only reason you have texts is because Jews wrote them down throughout history.

All of the texts did not come from the Jews, no matter who you define them as; and no, I didn't mention the Sadducees. I haven't read all of the texts from the Zadokites; and again, I try to avoid making absolute statements. Much of what I've read from them has little to no relevance to the topic of this thread. So far I haven't seen anything from them that would raise serious questions in my mind, as do many of the writings of the Pharisees. Not only does the Talmud sometimes contradict scripture; but it often contradicts itself.

I hate to interrupt but that's not true. And it is documented, even in the NT.

There are many today who call themselves Jews but are not blood related to Jacob or Judah. Yeshua wrote about it too.

Also in Luke's gospel we learn of the King of the Jews named Herod.
Herod was 'Jewish' in name only. His family was force converted but he never held to any of
its tenets.

How many semesters of Biblical Hebrew have you had which qualifies you to contradict ancient sources? As pointed here הַשֵּׁם would be pronounced ha as in hat, shem as in them.

I realise google translate has issues translating Hebrew accurately but I was on another site and in checking the hebrew name of Jesus I found something interesting.

יהושע translates "Joshua".
I reversed it (English to Hebrew) input Yahusha and it translated יהושה
Yeshua translates ישוע but it's supposed to be the Jewish name of Jesus (English translation Joshua). Why are they different?

The site I was on was saying Jesus Jewish name is Yahusha translated יהושע
But google translate says יהושה
I thought Yahusha was an alternative spelling.
