(MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT)
Here is a simpe equation for you:
X-Men: First Class > All other X-men movies put together.
For the first time ever, I can say that the prequel was better than the originals.
Why is this movie so awesome you say? here's a few good reasons.
3. Kevin Bacon as the main villian. Heat point speaks German. Need I say more?
2: This movie goes beyond the superficial. It actually makes you feel things. I almost felt like I was going to tear up during one scene, a feat accomlished by VERY few movies.
3: Magneto. Magneto was the satr of this film. Magneto WAS this film. IT could've been called Magneto: First Class. He was ten different kinds of awesome in this movie.
Things not awesome about this movie:
1. The other mutants.
Apart from Charles Xavier and Kevin Bacon, all the othe rmutants in this movie annoyed me and I was hoping most of them would die. The kid who screamed loud, the girl with the power of mosquito wings and buliemia, and especially Mystique.
Mystique spends a good portion of this movie being useless and whining about she just wants to look "normal". I was already fed up with her after the 3rd scene. I think she forgot that she can change into the most beautiful woman in the world if she wanted too. but no, she wants "to stop hiding". Cry Baby.
Kevin Bacon's henchmen were also very uninteresting and dissapointing. Diamond girl who they decided to give mind reading powers was boring, was hoping Magneto would kill her, same with tornado boy. Azazael was okay, even though he was just pretty much a red nightcraweler (Azazael is his dad).
Other than that this Film was really good. Let's talk more about Magneto.
He steals the show. This movie not only shows how awesome and cool and BA magneto is, but also humanizes and gives his character some substance.
The Holocaust scene was heartbreaking, but what was even more moving was when Charles shows Eric a memory of Eric's mother that Eric once forgot, and it actually makes a Magneto shed a tear. It was well executed and kind of touching. Michael Fassbender did an amazing portayal and balanced everything Magneto was going through perfectly
(HUGE SPOILER)
What can I say, Magneto just tears stuff up in this film. The final scene where (SPOILER)(SPOILER)( EPIC SPOILER) he kills Kevin Bacon by slowly moving a coin through the front of his forehead through his brain to the back of his head was so messed up and brilliantly unsettling. I cringed.
But by far the best is the Bar scne in Argentina. I won't spoil it for you. Go see it to experience that levels of amzing it produces. it was like something out of Inglourious Basterds.
Oh yeaha nd I gues James McAvoy (Charles Xavier) and Kevin Bacon did good jobs too.
I recommend this movie to everyone. there is something for everyone to enjoy.
For those who saw it, what are your thoughts on it?
