Would You Support A Christian Theocracy?

I say yes and no.

Yes, if the people would actually follow the rules of God.

No, if people tried to change the rules to make it seem right for how they are living, like so many people do now.

A christian cant be called anything but a christian...they should be following the law of God and Christ in the first place.
As christians we are supposed to spread the word and that includes by the Goverment.

A Christian theocracy will not work if Jesus hasn't returned yet. The Catholic Church ran a theocracy during the middle ages (aka the dark ages) and look at what happened there!

True that was the intent of the founders However people have lived their lives in the PC ( political correctness) bubble and in this time, secularism ( the thing that has been killing Europe ) Humanism ( putting man in the middle instead of god ) and Atheism has stripped the judeo-Christian value system that America was based on...
Look at Society...You can sing A song about Kwanza...a song about other Holidays but the minute you want to sing a religious CHRISTmas song the ACLU and other's bash their seperationist ideals down societies throat.
The minute a christian speaks up and aginst something they are called Bigots or right wingers... or zealots...
But let me ask this..was Jesus P.C?
Now think of this...If Jesus were to come back today...
he would be called a right wing nutjob by the media..there is something terribly wrong with this picture...
We need ACTIVE christians not sunday morning christians to get involved.

Very good point. Jesus was anything but PC. He called it like He saw it. He didn't fluff the truth. He said "look, this is wrong and you need to fix it." Paul was the same way. If you read his letters, expecially Galatians one, he gets to the point of yelling. Why sin doesn't upset more Christians today is a mystery to me. Christ and Paul weren't PC, why are so many Christians today PC?? We are so afraid of offending everyone else. We don't want to offend the world that Christ said isn't even our home. And yet we let them take away prayer in schools, and they don't let us pray to God in public, and they took the 10 commandments off the walls!

You can please some of the people most of the time, most of the people some of the time, but not all the people all the time.

That wasnt a true Theocracy...Lets not forget that during that time period common people did not have acess to the actual scripture
private home bibles did not exist at that point.
People went off what they were told.

Read some of the doctrine in some of the mainline denominations. One in particular comes to mind that you can be abything and it is fine, believe what you want and there is room for you. Is it any wonder that people are confused about Christianity and even Christians on how to live according to what the Gospels teach

We all do this and the nonbelievers would take notice.
Unfortunately we can't force non believers to live by what we believe.

I believe as Christians we are obligated to stand up for what we believe even to the point of disobeying if it is against Gods Word but I also know the Bible is true and it tells me that things will get worse and worse and the more I see the more excited I get and the more expectant because as it gets worse I know Jesus cannot be long in coming. I disagree with that. We can't force them to accept Christ. But we can place Biblical laws to help our nation. Granted we cannot force someone to worship God, and impose those laws on the people. I don't want the world to forbid me not to worship God, so I can't force them to worship. But don't you think our nation would be far better with moral laws? Take abortion for example. How many lives would be saved if we placed a law making it illegal to have an abortion? Or how many children and marriages would be saved to have laws making adultry illegal? You cannot exalt this sort of thing as a nation and still expect a national prosperity. Sowing and reaping laws do not allow it.

Why is it that the PC police tell us that we need to be accepting and tolerant of others even if they go against the laws that God established...Yet I cant have a copy of the ten commadments in the courthouse, why is it acceptable to be almost anything in this day and age except a christian?
my child may be read a book called my two moms in school yet they cant sing O Holy night........SHAKE THE DUST OFF YOUR FEET!!!!!

Sure, Texas is a grim place to live. But it is sure better than Venus.

I think a Christian Republic (that means it is run by rules, not by personalities) would work better than any current secular system.

yes a good post full of good ideas, However our country seems to have went to far in the opposite direction to turn back now without the help Of God himself.
We started out with morals and it evolved into this.
We can make adultery illegal...*Which I believe it is* till the cows come home but people will still commit adultery.
I believe in the things you believe in but we can't do it.
Only Jesus can make a non corrupt government.
