So, should we let pedophiles that invade our homes rape our 7 year old daughter? Should we let criminals and sadists cut your arms and legs instead of just shooting them in the leg? Should we let rapists rape your wives instead of immobilizing them (by shooting them)? Should we let them burn your house with your family in?

Dear young man,

Trusting in the Lord is exactly what it means. If you can't do that, then your faith needs to grow. The dramatic enemies that you speak of, aren't the worst ones. The hidden ones are amongst your own family and friends. We really do need to trust God, for we can't see what is really coming against us. Jesus tells us how to defeat the worst of the worst. Do you believe in Jesus, if not or not sure, then please don't lie and call yourself a Christian? Believing is trusting and is receiving help, guidance and protection from God. I would rather call upon the Lord Almighty than to rely on the limited & blind ways of the world. Many miracles have come to me when I needed God's help. We are all enemies of God if we are lost and do not believe in or follow Jesus Christ, his son. Will you rack up many weapons and upgrade to better ones or will you use the ones that Jesus has already given you?

Twice matter has passed through matter without harm to the people that I love. This is easy for God to accomplish. Autos passing through the bodies of my love ones, yet not even touching them are miracles and such miracles are much more common than we realize. We don't believe by miracles, but God loves us and our faith in him through his son, Jesus Christ. Our faith is such as to accept death, but is grateful for his helping hands in our difficult times.

My sister was to be raped and perhaps killed. She is close to God in all of her ways. She was untouched, even though there was a knife at her throat. If you grow close to the Lord, then knives, guns and the pain of death will mean nothing to you. You will rely upon your Father's knowledge and trust in Jesus, his son.

so, assuming you're in a position to intervene, you'd allow your sister to be raped and killed rather than shoot the rapist/murderer? is that your position?

I learned a long time ago to quit making up scenarios to question God's will for us through Jesus Christ. Don't tempt yourself to doubt in God by trying to corner faith. My sister was attacked alone and away from her family and friends, but God was with her! Don't tempt yourself to be faithless. Do the opposite; be very trusting and faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ. God will see your heart, if you trust in him. The results of any real life scenario will be much to your favor then. Do you want to kill others and have even myself to agree with you? Forget it. There are plenty of people to support your standing, but don't try to get faithful Christians to turn aside from obeying and trusting in Jesus. How they believe will show up every time in every possible circumstance. They are a worthy witness to the testimony of our savior, Jesus Christ. If they would be a martyr for the Gospel, would they not also died to obey their Lord Jesus Christ? What values you put on things here is a mistake. Obeying Christ is the only way that true values are realized.

I would lay down my life for my family, sisters & brothers, friends and even you a stranger, but I will not turn aside from the commands and trust of my Lord Jesus Christ. How many friends kill friends by trying to live out a supposed fearful scenario as an intruder in their own home. They kill their own family and friends by their fear and spiritual weakness. I was almost shot twice by very close friends. The mind to kill someone doesn't care but to kill and the right to do so. That mind doesn't consider the dark room or checking out to see who it really is at the end of their gun barrel. Don't try to support an evil, but try instead to go God's way through Jesus teachings and commands! God will help you at those difficult times. There has been many such times and scenarios for me and will be in the future also, I am sure, but my Lord & Savior will be with me as he has in the past! Have a wonderful day in the Lord, my friend.

I can give similar accounts. Thanks for sharing! God doesn't need worldly weapons to protect His own. He doesn't want us to kill others. He wants to save some of them.

You missed the main point of his post. God protected her because she was trusting Him. He is faithful to what He has promised!

So should I wait for a lightning to struck to the window and immobilize the attacker (or other similar things)?

This reminds me of the joke where there was a man in the middle of a flood. A boat came by and he neglected going on it saying: "God will save me". It happened so the second and the third time. And then he died. Then he supposedly went to Heaven and asked God: why didn't you save me? He said: well ... it is recorded here that I sent you three boats.

Are you suggesting to do nothing in that situation (that a pedophile wants to rape your daughter or boy and the only way to stop him is to shoot him)?
Your little joke is just a joke. What I am "suggesting" is to find out what God has promised in the Bible to His own. Why pray 'deliver us from evil' if we aren't going to believe that He will? How can we say we believe John 3:16 and not "The Lord is my helper"? Same Book, same God. If God must use weapons of destruction to protect His people then He will have a real problem for those who live under dictatorships where weapons are banned. God is not dependent on weapons and violence to protect us. Satan would have us to be like him and kill those for whom Jesus died to save.

Your question is flawed. If God is protecting them then they won't be killed. Unless God is helpless.
God isn't helpless. He put a loaded shotgun in my hands.

Maybe I should get fencing lessons so I can use the two swords He said would be enough.

All of which is ignoring what the NT teaches. What will you do if the USA loses its freedoms and you don't have any weapons of destruction? Who will you trust in then? Guess you would be doomed?

LOL, me worry? I'm trustin' God. The USA already has lost all its freedom.
I still have my shotgun.

I am just so glad that I live in a society where people do not need guns or possess them, and where there is extremely strict legislation governing the possession and use of firearms.

Where societies support tougher controls and laws on firearms, instead of justifying their "right" to use them, they generally don't have a problem with guns ending up in the wrong hands in the first place.

Except when it comes to Israeli soldiers shooting Palestinian children, apparently.
