Make it a head shot; you don't want to make him mad.

LOL nah, i'd be an expert shot before i ever had a gun, and shoot him in the knees first.....and then ask him if he wanted more.....and if he doesn't choose, i will

If you're going to do that, then you've got to do a Jack Bauer and scream, "Where are the cannisters!" every time you shoot him.

Head shots are very hard, particularly when you're not trained and your adreneline is pumping.

Better to go for two rounds in the center of mass (the chest).

What is the best Bible verse to read aloud before you kill a man in cold blood?

Who would Jesus shoot?

well now you DO realize Jesus when He returns will be kicking bee-hind and will be quite the Warrior, do you not?

you must'a missed the episode in i think it was "Love's LOng Journey" when very pregnant Missy got the best of the bad man and his buddles when she turned the gun on the guy and saved herself and her family and ranch hands. She was literally a Proverbs 31 woman, and knew how to shoot a gun with deadly accuracy, and also had the wisdom to know that the mere presence of a gun in the right hands, prevents ANYONE from getting shot. IN this episode she didn't fire a shot. sHe didn't have to. But if necessary, she wouldn't have hesitated.

Last time I checked, we are never instructed to follow the representation of Jesus in Revelations, we are instructed to follow the Jesus of the Gospels.

Can you expound on this more? THank you kindly.

Wow. "Home Invader",....
I think we just stumbled on a new video game idea!

So did Jesus of the gospels let a home invader rob His house, rape His mother,...~?
What would Jesus of the gospels let His home invader do?

...btw, is the Jesus of the gospels the same Jesus as Jesus of Revelation?

Revelations wasn't presented so that Christian's would act like Christ, the point of Revelations is to show us the judgement of Christ that is to come. We are, however, presented a Earthly Christ who is merely a man of God and that is a better representation of how we should act.

I'm not saying one way or the other how Christ feels about shooting, but saying "Oh, but Jesus was so hardcore in Revelations so that's how I'm going to be" isn't exactly using Scripture as it's meant IMO.

Here is what I know, Jesus Christ is in my heart and because of His love I am saved and am a different person. He has inspired me to become a non-violent disciple who has love for all people. I do not know what I would do if an invader robbed my home, raped my mother, etc. but I can tell you that I would hope and pray that I could act in a way that would be good in the eyes of the Lord. As far as I know now, for me to do that, I would have to act in a way to preserve life and to also demonstrate the love of the Lord in my life.

So no, I can't tell you exactly what I'd do or how I'd handle it. I can tell you however that I know that God will show me the right way to handle the situation.

How is not killing a burglar tantamount to letting an invader "rape [one's] mother"? Most home invasions are committed by strung out drug addicts looking for a few things they can sell for dope money. Sure, every once in a while, someone will break into your home with more nefarious motives, but this is a very rare occurrence. And, how you react to someone stealing your stuff should be quite different than how you react to someone harming a loved one.

That's honest & I appreciate it.
Now I know not to count on you if I can avoid it.

Right....

Last time I checked that verse is simply talking about caring for and feeding and being their for family, not what if's like if someone were to come in and rob me.

I will take care of my family in the way that God inspires me to through Scripture much like the ones you posted and you will your way. I don't appreciate the implication that I wouldn't be caring for my family simply because I wouldn't react like you, seeing that you are not an authority on what is and isn't going to stop a person from invading my home and what the Bible has to say on the subject.
