Had kids? No
Was divorced? Yes
Smokes? Not unless they were seriously going to quit
Drinks? Yes, as long as he doesn't abuse it or drink irresponsibly.
Uses drugs? Depends. If he's a social pot user, thats fine. Experimented with certain things, thats fine. But a regular user or abuser of addictive substances? Absolutely not.
Was not from your denomination? Well I'm not Christian. But at this point i'm not much interested in dating Christians regardless of what denomination they're from.
Was not a Christian? Of course
Was overweight? No
Has body odor? Umm, doesn't everybody? I don't really understand this question. If you shower and use deodorant, it shouldn't be an issue. If the man has bad hygiene, then no.
Dresses poorly? It depends.
Bathes seldomly? No
Was taller than you (for men) / shorter than you (for women)? Yes
Was 5 years younger than you? No that would make him underage and I'm not going there.
How about 10 years younger? That would make him 11. No.
Was 5 years older than you? Sure.
10 years older? Possibly.
Has no car? Yes
Has no job? Depends. Is he a lazy bum with no ambition? Then no. If he is a college student or between jobs or looking, sure.
Has no money? Well thats likely a given if he has no job. I don't see an issue with it as long as he doesn't expect me to be some kinda sugar mommy.
Has no ambition for the future? Definitely not.
Is negative? No
Doesn't go to church? Yes.
Was of a different race (ethnicity) than you? Yes
Your parents did not approve of? Yes
Is Clingy? Definitely not.
Talks about marriage right away? No
Is awesome? Duh?
Is a vegetarian / vegan? (Or a meat-eater if you are not?) Yes, I would adapt to a vegetarian lifestyle very well. Vegan not so much, but if he can respect and accept my decision to use dairy products and not pay attention to gluten content (and use leather and all that), then yes.

Had kids?

Going back into the Army it would present a difficult situation as moving on a regular basis is often part of a military life style. With custody and visitation orders it would not be an ideal situation. Under other circumstances then yes.

Was divorced?

Yes

Smokes?

Socially sure, but I don't think I could handle a heavy smoker

Drinks?

Within reason, no problem.

Uses drugs?

Nope, that's an invitation to chaos in a person's life.

Was not from your denomination?

Yes

Was not a Christian?

Yes, but I would not date an atheist.

Was overweight?

A few pounds not a problem, don't think my life style would work with someone that was obese.

Has body odor?

Everyone has BO.

Dresses poorly?

I'm not the editor of Instyle magazine.

Bathes seldomly?

No, there's just no reason for that kind of personal laziness.

Was taller than you (for men) / shorter than you (for women)?

Absolutely I would, have done so in the past.

Was 5 years younger than you?

Yes

How about 10 years younger?

I don't think I'd have much in common with a 19 year old girl fresh out of high school.

Was 5 years older than you?

Yes

10 years older?

No, don't think a woman nearing 40 would have much in common with me.

Has no car?

Yes

Has no job?

Yes

Has no money?

I don't have any money, so why should I hold someone to a standard I do not myself meet.

Has no ambition for the future?

I think people need to want a few things out of life. However, I would prefer someone whose aspirations were what some would call a lack of ambition to someone that lives with a series of unrealistic pipe dreams.

Is negative?

No

Doesn't go to church?

Yes

Was of a different race (ethnicity) than you?

Yes

Your parents did not approve of?

Never had my parents comment on my dating choices

Is Clingy?

I would prefer clingy to someone that is distant and seems uninterested half the time.

Talks about marriage right away?

That would be a red flag

Is awesome?

Yes

Is a vegetarian / vegan? (Or a meat-eater if you are not?)

No, such diets are not in accord with the nutritional requirements of human beings and are unhealthy.

Had kids? Hum. I'm going to say no right now.

Was divorced? I don't know.

Smokes? On occasion, other then that, I cannot allow that, for his health. He must quit or want too. More so I would want to help him.

Drinks? Of course occasionally. I am not going to date or will date an alcoholic.

Uses drugs? Never.

Was not from your denomination? Of course!

Was not a Christian? No.

Was overweight? How overweight?
I think I am overweight sometimes, and but then again I'm really not. I just think 10 to 20 pounds over the hight to weight ratio is not a big deal to me, at all!!!!

Has body odor? You mean, sexy AXE body odor. Oh, la la yeessss!

Dresses poorly? I don't think I can stop myself from dating someone who does not have some fashion sense, but I am sure some time in the relationship I would go shopping with him.....cause he would never say no to me. =p

Bathes seldomly? LOL. NO!

Was taller than you (for men) / shorter than you (for women)? I'm just so tall, and bad enough that I feel somewhat embarrassed by it so I would say no. At least same hight.
I am a horrible, horrible person! :(

Was 5 years younger than you? No. Unless he was mature.

How about 10 years younger? Eek talk about being illegal. No, no, and more no!!

Was 5 years older than you? That would be wonderful.

10 years older? yes, and he better keep up!

Has no car? Of course!!!

Has no job? Yes, and I mean that. Very much. I see what it does to my brother and I would never, ever allow a man to feel that he is not wanted or not good enough just because he is unemployed.

Has no money? Yes, come on now, I am no rich girl to expect any more from someone else.

Has no ambition for the future? I believe he should have a passion for something and strive to meet his goals. I am doing the same, so to have someone who understands me, would be great. :)

Is negative? How so? But if it is draining and always, always a problem then it would be hard for me to connect.

Doesn't go to church? Yes!

Was of a different race (ethnicity) than you? Yes- But I like for him to really see mine as well and how important it is to me.

Your parents did not approve of? It would be hard for me at first but I think my parents are the type to understand after time.

Is Clingy? I would like someone who is passionate about me. I don't know what that is defined as. :)

Talks about marriage right away? I wouldn't mind talking about marriage right away, but not on the first date, just lets get to know each other first.

Is awesome? He will be that and more. :)

Is a vegetarian / vegan? It would be hard for me but I wouldn't say no.

Had kids? NO
Was divorced? It depends on the reasons
Smokes? NO
Drinks? NO
Uses drugs? NO
Was not from your denomination? YES
Was not a Christian? NO
Was overweight? A few pounds, sure no problem
Has body odor? huh?
Dresses poorly? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Bathes seldomly? Crazy
Was taller than you (for men) / shorter than you (for women)? Woman taller than me? Those are not easy to find, most are below 6 ft. But I sure would like a girl tall enough so I don't have to bend down and crack my back to hug her. :)
Was 5 years younger than you? That would be ideal. I had that at one time. :) But age is a just a #, I'm into the 'connection' first.
How about 10 years younger? Sure.
Was 5 years older than you? Hmm, don't know about that. If she looked and acted young enough, sure. :)
10 years older? Ok, now we is getting crazy
Has no car? Sure
Has no job? Sure, we were all unemployed at one time.
Has no money? That's hard to believe, but I'm willing to help/support her. That is actually motivation for me to work hard. I like that.
Has no ambition for the future? I don't connect well with girls who just stare at the wall. That would be weird.
Is negative? Negative against everything. Impossible.
Doesn't go to church? That's ok as long as she has faith in Christ & follows Him.
Was of a different race (ethnicity) than you? No problem, I'm actually attracted to other races too.
Your parents did not approve of? I think they would accept my judgement/decision.
Is Clingy? Clingy? Like a Kuala Bear or however you spell it? That would be weird.
Talks about marriage right away? That's also weird.
Is awesome? Definitely.
Is a vegetarian / vegan? (Or a meat-eater if you are not?) That would be ok, sure would help me lose my ittty bitty belly fat then. :)

If more come to mind, I'll add them, or feel free to add your own.

The end.

Everybody has different needs, and its important to take that into account. I'm sure we also have different standards in our mind when we answered.

No, such diets are not in accord with the nutritional requirements of human beings and are unhealthy.

Of course God wasn't creative enough to provide full nutritional requirements in plants. Oh wait... He did.

All nutritional needs are found in plants. Isn't it the way God intended diets to be? Before humans screwed it up and sinned?

Human beings require complete proteins, without those complete proteins that are only found in animal sources you are not eating a healthy diet. Without significant supplements vegans will suffer from the same sorts of malnutrition induced illnesses that people in the third world suffer. There are people that have died as a result of following vegan diets without being knowledgeable in the supplements required. There are no plant sources of complete protein. Most westerners do not have this problems, but even slight protein deficiencies can lead to notable problems in physical and mental performance levels. The consumption of high levels of carbs to fill the void left by animal proteins also presents significant problems to vegan and veg diets.

Human beings have all the typical characteristics of predatory animals. Our eyes are in front of our heads, to focus on prey. Prey animals have wide set eyes that are less acute at focus, but increase range of vision. Our teeth are also a tell tell sign of predatory inclination. Our neolithic ancestors ate diets full of animal proteins, a pattern that was only interrupted by the agricultural revolution.

I don't believe any perfect creature would require food at all, and in a perfect human state man would have eaten neither plant nor animal. But we're not perfect and natural human diets require animal proteins.

Now, now...

There's nothing unrealistic about it, really.

I could've gone far more specific and stringent than I did. I just threw in some random questions, as I was pondering what many of my own personal deakbreakers happen to be.

I'm a little perplexed by this "We all have B.O" business...

A simple shower or two a day coupled with some deodorant should take care of any B.O. people may have.

I think it's inexcusable to live in our day and age and smell, unless you are someone who does constant and heavy manual labor, and in that case, it's to be expected.

I've read through most of the responses and think it is interesting that a lot of people that said yes to dating someone with kids said no to dating someone who was divorced. I'll go out on a limb and assume that this means they would date someone who had a child out of wedlock or is widowed...but not someone who is still married. :p

Had kids? Maybe. It depends on a few things, though ideally a guy I date would not have kids.
Was divorced? Yes
Smokes? Maybe. It depends on a few things.
Drinks? Yes, as long as it's in moderation.
Uses drugs? No
Was not from your denomination? Yes
Was not a Christian? Maybe. It would depend on a few things. Ideally, the guy would be a Christian.
Was overweight? Yes, to a point.
Has body odor? Stinks? No.
Dresses poorly? Depends on what dressing poorly exactly entails.
Bathes seldomly? No
Was taller than you (for men) / shorter than you (for women)? No. I'm 5 feet tall, so I don't think it's asking too much that a guy be taller than me.
Was 5 years younger than you? Yes
How about 10 years younger? Maybe, though this would have to be a special guy that I already knew prior to dating.
Was 5 years older than you? Yes
10 years older? Yes.
Has no car? Yes. Ideally, he would have one.
Has no job? Yes, as long as he is looking for work. This economy sucks and I certainly know what it feels like to be trying to find a job and not having one, through no fault of your own.
Has no money? Yes.
Has no ambition for the future? No. He has to at least have some level/type of ambition.
Is negative? Major negativity? No.
Doesn't go to church? Depends on why.

Is Clingy? Probably not, but depends on your definition of "clingy."
Talks about marriage right away? I don't know.
Is awesome? Absolutely
Is a vegetarian / vegan? (Or a meat-eater if you are not?) Yes, as long as he is okay with knowing I'll never be vegan.
