  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Would you date...

Someone who did in the past but doesn't live that sort of lifestyle anymore? Yes.

Someone who does that currently and is still living that lifestyle? No.

:)

Apart from the illegality of taking recreational drugs I have the same feelings towards the social use of them as I do towards social drinking/smoking. I don't like it, I would prefer it not to happen in my house, but it's not worth declining a date with someone who otherwise could be a good fit.

But then part of me is strongly opposed to it due to my background. I suppose it would boil down to how obvious their usage was, how much they brought into a shared environment and the extent of their usage.

Illegal drugs, no, not due to the nature of the drug but only because using them is currently a crime and I don't want to date a criminal even if I disagree with the law.

Legal recreational drugs, maybe, depends on what they are- I myself use alcohol in moderation but I probably won't date someone who uses tobacco in any form.

Marijuana....MAYBE..but probably not... Anything else, definitely not.

I'll clarify my position...IF weed was decriminalized or made legal, I'd see no problem with it in moderation, like alcohol. Doing it illegally is a sin though, as it breaks the laws of this land that I live in. But I still stand by weed being the only one that I could feel comfy with, MAYBE.

weed is decriminalized here. I wouldn't date someone who smokes it though. unless it were for medicinal purposes and even then.... if his health was that bad i'd probably question if he'd be able to be all in in a relationship.

my reasoning is if the Bible calls us to be soberminded and to avoid getting drunk, but be filled with the Holy Spirit, then the spirit of those passages would also refer to other substances which mess with your inhibitions and mind. i just see no good reason for a Christian to smoke it, and I wouldn't date a nonChristian.
