• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Would you date...

Blind posting is blind.

Current user: no.

Past user: yes.

Smoker: no.

Drinker: depends. I mean, I call myself a social drinker, but I'm not social. I have drinks very rarely. If it's about there, I can handle that. But going out on the weekends to get drunk? No.

That's actually somewhat incorrect, Mr. Stravinsk. In strains of Cannabis that contain THC - that THC is bound up as an acid - technically THCa - a compound which isn't psychoactive at all. Consuming raw cannabis won't "slow you down". It only becomes psychoactive when it is heated.

I haven't been following the whole post so I may have missed something in this conversation....

However, doesn't it get heated up when it enters the body and gets processed in the GI tract?

To the person who compared marijuana to dietary foods like sugar and fat...in excess, they are not good for the body but in moderation, they are fine and have never impaired someone's ability to drive a car or make good decisions in an emergency situation.

Alcohol is legal and mind altering...and lets discuss how the general population uses that drug....not wisely much of the time. Smoking cigarettes is also legal with few to none positive attributes. Both legal drugs are very big factors why a majority of the beds in a hospital have occupants...

Legal doesn't mean "safe". And just because one bad drug is legal doesn't mean we should legalize other bad drugs. It is because of the problems with recreational use that several valuable drugs like marijuana aren't used regularly as medical treatments.

Oh...to the OP...No to dating anyone who engages in illegal behavior on a regular basis.

...someone who uses recreational drugs on an irregular basis and only at social parties?

By the way, no I do not take drugs before anyone thinks that lol.

I know someone who used to do ecstasy in his twenties but moved on years ago. Now he likes to go on Christian retreats and prays a lot. I'd date him if there was interest.

Drugs? In terms of dating, she would be very low on my priority list. She clearly have self-control problems. Let's say we get married. How can I be confident that she won't just go for another man? Yes that's a different topic. But it is the same issue of self-control. Same thing with gambling and any other addictions.

I would befriend her and try to help her break free from her addictions.

If one day she breaks free, and we are both interested and single, perhaps we can start dating.

If they currently use illegal drugs or drugs not prescribed for them then no, would be afraid of getting caught if with them. If they currently used over the counter recreational drugs then I might. If they feel they need to pop pills to have fun, while I certainly do not agree with doing that, I feel bad for them for having flawed thinking. I would date them if it was the right person, as long as they don't try to convince me to do so.
