Hi Arianna, habits can be tough, hang in there, one day at a time. Know the Lord loves you and is by your side in support and not condemnation. It might be baby steps right now, your going to have to see what works for you, just don't get discourage. I invite you to go to the daily devotion forum, I have a Catholic meditation thread, one of the saints I posted St. Jane De Chantel has some beautiful words of encouragement for people even if you fail 50 times a day, God bless.Arianna said:I'm starting to feel really guilty about this now. I feel guilty because don't think i'm ready to stop, i think the next few months are going to be quite stressful (i'm finishing my degree)
You are all making really helpful suggestions, but I feel guilty cos really there is no way I'm going to go see a counsellor. Someone might find out, someone in my family might find out. This is definatly something they should never ever know about.
Love,
Arianna

No! God is not angry with you, He is weeping for you. He is weeping with you. He did not create you to no such sadness. CHRIST CAME TO SET US FREE FROM DARKNESS! SET US FREE! COMPLETELY FREE! `Arianna said:I was just wondering if cutting yourself is considered sinful?
I have never really thought of it as being wrong........
It doesn't hurt anyone...
but would God be angry at me for this?
It seems that the more questions I ask the more I seem to find out that eveything I do is wrong.

Arianna

What parent who saw their own child cutting themselves would do nothing about it?
Yahushua loves you. He grieves that you are not seeking him for refuge, counseling, and healing. Don't inflict harm onto yourself. Don't be self-centered, selfish, egotistical, stubborn, etc. Seek Yahushua and call him into your life and walk with him that he will lead you into the light. You have a choice to stay in the dark where there is no hope and life or seek Yahushua to lead you in the light.

We tend to think that everything we do should reflect who we are. It doesn't have to.
I'm guessing you're hard on yourself right now, maybe not. Doing well in school, picking the right career, relationships, relating to parents, living situation, appearance--these are common college year stressors. There's an incredible amount of pressure placed on these few years. Some people simply lose it, and bottom out. Some people cheat to get through. You've managed to keep things afloat.
No one relates well to everything you're going through, because parents only remember the fun of college, and college friends are emotionally competing. In a nice way, of course. (-; Other people think of this time as normal, but it's not. It's not normal to push yourself beyond your limits for years at a time without a break.
We all think we're invincible at some time in our lives. Most of us hit a point where we suddenly realize a limit in what we can accomplish, in sleep loss, in perfection, in how much we can read in 24 hours. It's okay.
Even though these limits imply imperfection and weakness, hitting this point allows us to be compassionate to others. So in a sense, when we're not accomplishing our highest, we are strengthening in character. It's a good thing. Some day you'll have a daughter (or son) who will not feel up to par, and you'll be able to talk to her without driving fear into her.
Life goes on.
Actually, self-injury is a coping mechanism. It has nothing to do with suicide at all.Bain_Adaneth said:why do you cut yourself?.....what does that achieve?....are those continuous attemps that inches its way to suicide?.....
