There are many legitimate solutions given, but as you know, the ones meant for You, the Holy Spirit knows. This is not a direct answer, and yet it is something I've become more aware of as I get older--and that actually cuts through a lot of my own issues. Perhaps it will speak to you. Namely, this: a lot of our aimlessness in the inevitable struggles has to do with a misunderstanding (for various reasons) of the character of God the Father. His character is actually that of Jesus, His Eternal Son. There are many verses to explain God's character. A passage that has really stuck out to me lately has to do with Christian fruit. And, when I thought about Galatians 5:22-23, it dawned on me that these really are the attributes of God that grow in us! Please read these and think, "This is what my Heavenly Father is like." Only then ponder hell in that context. It is true, God will judge. However, when you abide in Him, "Perfect love casts out all fear" - 1 John 4:18

Wrong. Your claim that God refuses Grace to certain sinners and not others and instead bases His Grace on 'works' is heresy.

The unregenerate don't want God's grace as they are spiritually dead. I did not say that God refuses grace to certain sinners.

I was responding to your post where you were essentially saying that homosexuality is not a sin and God is not just. I did not say anything about works.

I believe in God and i'm trying to accept Jesus as my saviour again (I did when I was younger, but recently I have become distracted). I have committed forgivable sins. What must I do to ensure I will be saved?
Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

~here's one arranged for you.
"Oh Lord God, i come to you in the name of Jesus Christ.
Your Word says, whosoever shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved.
I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be the Lord of my life.
I receive eternal life into my spirit.
I declare that i am saved, i am born again, i am a child of God.
I now have christ dwelling in me, i am a New Creation Hallelujah!"

*you are born again* in your spirit, you have eternal life imparted to your spirit and you are born righteous by nature, you can't sin from here on, for you are under grace.

1 John 3:9 "Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God."

Romans 6:14 "For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace."

Yes, you did. You should actually read and comprehend what YOU said.

When ever you state God will not hear a prayer of contrition and repentance because of past sins is to declare 'works' are more important and cancels God's grace.

Good point that in a good relationship with God, over time fear turns to love. When we know we are set in His promises, then we let love guide us and move on from fear.

I'm not all that sure how to
This comment of yours concerns me. Everyone knows what they must do to stop sinning, if they recognize sin at all. Vis-a-vis the sins you mention, it is obvious what has to be done. Stop doing whatever it was that you were doing. I detect a certain amount of levity in your attitude. And absolutely for sure, you will go to hell if you do not repent and believe in Jesus, rather than the Pope or the Catholic church.

Start with the gospel and epistles of John, and read them every day.

Once you have given your life to Christ thats it, you are committed for life, you cannot dissolve the fact that you've been saved, even by sinning, you can try and walk away from God, you can backslide, even try to run away but the fact remains that you have been saved.
Of course we all have to answer for our sins at the day of judgement but that does not mean Christ will say "I do not know this man".
Even though I have come back to God I like most other honest people admit that I sin in thought and deed every day, its impossible for us not to as we have been born to sin ever since Adam and Eve ate from the tree in the garden of Eden, God knows this, he knows we cannot be perfect, we cannot be free from sin, but as long as we repent (try not to sin) and ask for forgiveness I believe he is content with us.

To clarify, I'm in agreeance with sunshine456 on page 2 of this thread (thank you many times!). Some other quotes to supplement would be:

Matthew 7:24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock."

James 1:22 "Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."

Hey, you might have anxiety or a form of OCD. I had this in high school, thinking I was going to hell. It's a common symptom. Then my youth leader said "If you are worried about going to hell, you are not going to hell." Maybe talk to your doc about the anxiety. Hugs

Only Jesus can keep you from sinning.

To show you have repented you need to ask forgiveness from anyone you have harmed with your actions this includes anyone you have maybe infected and damaged for life, molested, abused, looked at lustfully.
Burn, delete, destroy any trace of porn and idolatry in your life.

I dont want you to be ignorant, any one who continues with fornication and sexual immorality will not inherit the kingdom of God. This is for His childrens safety. JEsus says those who harm his little ones will be tossed into the sea with a millstone around their necks. Dont try and dress it up, its wrong, admit you were wrong and turn away.

GOd had mercy on Lot when he was going to destroy sodom and gomorrah. Possibly Lot was thinking exposing his daughters to this kind of sin was ok knowing they would never marry and have children since all the men in the town were gay so he settled in Sodom, but when they escaped the fire and brimstone, they ended up sleeping with their own dad.

Ugh.

1 Corinthians 15:3-5 Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; he was buried, and he rose again the third day according to the scriptures, and that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

Jesus died for your sins! Make sure you actually trust Him (and not your choice to believe) for your salvation. Don't have faith in your faith.

The answer is "Give up!" What I mean is, you cannot keep "trying" to be saved. That is not Faith. That is works. And a sinner cannot possibly please God with their imperfect works.

That's the bad news.

However, the GOOD news is Jesus Christ was perfect and lived perfectly, never having sin, and never sinning. Yet God was "pleased to crush Him", and He suffered all the curses of sinners, even though He deserved all the blessings of being sinless.

This "injustice" towards Jesus by God has earned for us sinners, the immeasurable Righteous of God Himself. Jesus' attained Righteousness for you and for me, when He was "obedient unto death, event the death of the cross".

Jesus nailed our sins to the cross, pouring out His righteous blood, and sprinkling us. God uses Jesus Christ's Blood to purify us. We DO NOT purify ourselves by ourselves.

The only question you have to ask yourself is this...

"Is the Perfect Blood of the Only Born Son of God of enough to pay for all my sins?"

The answer is Eternal.... the answer is an obvious and resounding "YES!"..... and AMEN!

As it is written "For by GRACE are we saved, thru Faith, and NOT of ourselves. Salvation is a (free) Gift of God, not based on works (either 'good' OR 'bad' works), in case any man try to brag."

...
It is a foundational peace that we can know we are saved and that we don't have to be righteous to have eternal life. It is Christ's righteousness that saves us.

I just want to say, it is not my words, it is Jesus who says:

These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
Mat. 25:46

If we believe him, person must be righteous to get eternal life. And if person is righteous, it is seen in the person’s actions like for example as shown in this:

He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can't sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn't do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn't love his brother.
1 John 3:7-10

You don’t have to believe me, but I recommend all to receive what Jesus said, because:

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is useless. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.
John 6:63

Truly, truly I tell you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death at all.”

John. 8:51

Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. Then my Father will love him, and we will go to him and make our home within him.
John 14:23

That is why it is sad that many Christian and also Jewish places delete words that Jesus said that don’t fit into their doctrines. By doing so, they also prevent many others to enter God’s kingdom.

There is a small mistake here. We most certainly do not have to be righteous to get eternal life. That would be impossible.

We come as we are. Sinners of all shapes and sizes. If we had to be righteous to get eternal life... we would be forever trying and never achieving.

Once we are saved, we obtain righteousness through Christ.

Once we have received righteousness through Christ, we are assured to have eternal life. None of this righteousness can be claimed by our own doing. It is all the gift of salvation.

That is heresy friend. God is holy and just and He will turn a blind eye to sin. God has defined homosexuality to be sin in the Bible.
Homosexuality is definitely a sin and is mentioned quite a few times. Do not forget the most famous demonstration of GOD's position toward homosexuality in Sodom and Gomorrah!

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (17) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. (18) Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Acts 16:30-31 Then he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" (31) And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."

Romans 10:13-17 For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (14) How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? (15) And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" (16) But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?" (17) So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

A person is not saved multiple times throughout their life. You may have had a false conversion when you were younger. Nowhere in the Bible are we told to "accept Jesus" as if He is some poor beggar looking for a handout. He is God!

God is the one who gives you assurance of salvation. Read and study the Bible as often as possible and cry out to God for Him to save you, He is faithful and He will.
Amen.

I have committed homosexual actions and have not repented, this is my biggest worry.
I struggled with watching pornography for 15 years and God delivered me from it. Even if you can't stop your sin immediately, keep praying and confessing, you eventually will stop.

Hey, a sin is a sin. I don't know which sin is forgivable, which is not. But to grow into something God want us to be is what we should do everyday.
Humanbeings need to be deeply loved by God. When the need to be loved by God can not be satisfied,we seek love in a wrong way.

We need to do some good work to stay in God.it takes pray, worship, helping others, really read and meditate on Bible verses that you need.here is what I wrote in my blog today, it may help you.

"The Bible like to compare us as plant. As a plant we need to deeply rooted and grounded inGod's love. We need to do some work every day watering, nourishing, to let the root grow deeper and the stem stronger.

Many people experience trauma, Terro, lost some loved one, fail in one area of life, mistreated mentally or physically, and there is a voice hanging on like this, you are no good, you are stupid, nothing good will happen to you. Those lies are one source of the biggest lie for Demon: you are not loved by God .

But we are deeply loved by God. we are made by his precious hand, he rejoice us with singing, he adore us even desired us (in Song of Solomon)he loved us to a point to die for us in order us to live.

But this faith in God does not fall on us every morning when we get up, we need to do some work, like I said watering or burnishing, in other word, read scriptures about God's love and meditated on it, pray and believe God love you and will make good management of every area of your life.

Some scripture for your benefit, check who you are in christ."

Love and care

I believe in God and i'm trying to accept Jesus as my saviour again (I did when I was younger, but recently I have become distracted). I have committed forgivable sins. What must I do to ensure I will be saved?

What you said in parentheses is the story of my past half year life. I have been distracted by the evil of this world, and have sinned many sins. Paul says, according to the book of Hebrews,

"We have a great high priest, who has passed through the heavens, Yeshua, the Son of God, who is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and going astray, because He himself also suffered when being tempted, so He is able to help those who are also tempted" (Hebrews 2:18; 4:14; 5:2).

"My Word that goes forth out of my mouth shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing I sent it to do" (Isaiah 55:11).

And Christ Yeshua is the Word made flesh cording to John 1:14. So call on Christ, the Word of God; ask for His help. This is what I did months ago when I was tempted: I said, "Christ help me Christ help me," and the Word came forth, and accomplished the purpose set out before Him.

Take this advice: what goes to the eyes goes to the mind. What goes to the mind goes to your heart. What goes to your heart determines your actions. Your actions determine your destiny. So I say to you this: if you see something and it causes you to sin, do what Yeshua said and cut it off. If it is the Internet, what ever it is that you see, whether you look it up or come across it, cut it off. It is better to lose some Internet searches than to keep them and perish in hell. Whatever it is, apply this thinking to it, and act on it.

And what does God say in regards to those who begin to stray?

"Come now, and let us reason together, says Yehowah; return to me, and I will return to you; though your sins are as scarlet, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as white as snow; they shall be white as wool" (Isaiah1:18; Zechariah 1:3).

And,

"If you return to the Almighty, if you draw near to God, you shall be built up; if you put away unrighteousness and cleanse your hands and purify your heart. For Yehowah has blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins. Return to Him, for He has redeemed you" (Job 22:23; Isaiah 44:22; James 4:8).

And how do we turn from unrighteousness? By turning to God in faith. Not just the faith that He exists (for even the demons believe that), but faith in the Word of God which says your sinful ways are evil. For if you believe truly that the Word of God is true, then you will believe that sinful ways are wrong, and that they condemn us. Therefore, if you truly believe, repent. Why will you perish, child of God, brother of and in Christ? Do you not know that this is how God causes us to come to faith; by showing us that our ways are evil and that our evil ways condemned us? We then realize the condemnation we are under, and come to God in faith in His Word (for Christ is the Word, and "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word about Christ" (Romans 10:17)); Christ said He came to call sinners to repentance (Luke 5:32), and sin is breaking the Law of God (Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4).

Therefore, if you believe in Christ, and if you believe that He said what He said, and thus you believe that what God has said throughout the bible and through Christ is true, then the Holy Spirit is in you, causing you to believe all this. The Holy Spirit, Christ said, would lead us to the truth (John 16:13), and God's Word (including but not limited to the Law of God) is truth (Psalm 119:160); Christ is the Word of God (including but not limited to the Law of God) made flesh (John 1:14). Therefore the Spirit leads us to the Law of God, as Ezekiel wrote,

"I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my ordinances, and do them" (Ezekiel 36:26-27);

And as Jeremiah wrote,

"This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yehowah: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people (Jeremiah 31:33).

The Christians are a part of Israel,

"You were at one time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ. So then, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God (Ephesians 2:12-13; 19).

This is how the Spirit of life in Christ Yeshua made us free from the Law of Sin and Death (Romans 8:2): by bringing us to God by grace (which includes the undeserved forgiveness of sins) through faith in Christ. The faith proceeds, produces, and includes works of the Law. Works of the Law are not a separate part of faith, but are a part of it. This is why "He who does righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7), because only those who practice the Law of God show that they believe the Word of God to be true. For if we say that we believe, but have no works, we show that our belief is false and that we don't believe that God's Word is true. And God's Law is not burdensome at all, either in the New Testament or the Old Testament (Deuteronomy 30:11; 1 John 5:3).

If God is disciplining you, "Do not forget the exhortation which reasons with you as with a child,

'My son, don’t take lightly the chastening of Yehowah,
nor lose heart when you are rebuked by him;
For whom Yehowah loves, He chastens,
and He scourges every son whom He receives.'

God deals with you as with a child. And what son is there whom his father doesn’t discipline? If you are without discipline, of which all have been made partakers, then are you illegitimate, and not a child. Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live? For they indeed, for a few days, punished us as seemed good to them; but God disciplines us for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness. All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby."

"And without holiness we will not see God" (Hebrews 12:14).

Therefore,

"lift up the hands that hang down and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that which is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed" (Hebrews 12:5-12), for "no one can come to Christ unless the Father who sent Him draws them. And those who believe in Christ have eternal life. All those whom the Father gives to Christ will come to Him, and those who come to Christ will by no means be cast away" (John 6:37; 44; 47).

We can see therefore that God called you to Christ. Not to condemn you, but to save you. And "He who started a good work in you will finish it" (Philippians 1:6). So repent, turn from evil, and pray for forgiveness. God will heal you. Ask Christ for help. I hope this helps.
