So it sounds like the problem you're having isn't the game, but doubt itself. Have you gone through the rest of this thread? There are a lot of great posts in here, and I think a number of people have made some very convincing posts pointing to WoW not being evil at all.I'm not saying you should stop playing it, or that it's evil, coz as I said, I just don't know.
I don't think you would either, unless he felt it was an especially good way to get his message out to people. Jesus probably had more important things to do with his time (though who knows, there was that big chunk of his life not covered in scripture). He wouldn't be avoiding it out of concern for it being evil, though. I think Jesus had a decent grasp on the difference between fantasy and reality.Yeah, I had a quick read, but all I could see, was some people say its bad, and others say its not.
I don't think I'd see Jesus playing it, do you?
No, I don't think so. WoW is a game, and no more a tool of demons than ice cream or poker.Do you not think you can relate Ephesians 6:12 to this at all?
There is no doubt in my mind that WoW is not evil. I am not sure if calling it "good" is the right way to go about this, as there are plenty of things out there that are not evil or harmful, but to which it would not be suitable to attach a moral alignment to. If your definition of "good" includes mundane things like carrots, for instance, then yes, I would consider WoW good. You have no doubt in your mind what so ever that WoW is good?
Again, this is a difficult dichotomy to understand. There are holy things, and there may be unholy things, but I am relatively sure that most things in this world are neither holy or unholy - they are just simply there. And, if not, are you not one of these people that think if its not of God its of the devil?
Yeah, ok, but doesn't the bible state that things of this world are of the devil and that we should stay away from them?

This is an issue I have struggled with myself.
I played WoW for a while, and stopped because I just couldn't find peace about it, every night I'd try to sleep, and all I would think of was ".. should I stop playing Wow?! is it evil?! is it bad?.." ok.. you get the point, but finally I gave it up, and simply because I DON'T KNOW, thats right, I don't know if its bad, I feel like it's bad, but there is no logic to my feelings, so I thought, its better that I give it up, because at least God can respect that, and I wont have sleepless nights wondering if I'm playing at being evil.
One thing I do know, WoW doesn't in any way bring glory to God.
I'm not saying you should stop playing it, or that it's evil, coz as I said, I just don't know.
But if you feel bad about it in anyway, or if it's making trouble in your family, it's just a game, let it go.
Er...if you really believe that to be true, why are you using a computer? Computers are of this world, and by your reasoning that means they're of the devil and you should stay away from them.Yeah, ok, but doesn't the bible state that things of this world are of the devil and that we should stay away from them?
Thats ok, I dont think its right either. I just dont usually participate in these threads, its usually the same people posting in support of it and I have seen many baited into flame wars then reported within five minutes I think that is primarily what these threads are started for here.Hm... interesting...
I guess I have the same kinda problem as the guy that started this post.
cept that he feels that its not wrong, when everyone is saying it is, and I feel some how it is, when everyone is saying it isn't...
blaa too confusing, it doesn't help that I want to play it, coz then I feel like if I say its ok, its just because its what i want.
Same here but I just don’t any longer. I still want to play EverQuest or Ultima Online, I feel the pull, but I just stay away from it like with other things in this world. The bible says that these forms of magic are wrong, and basically to play the games is fantasizing that you are in that realm. If it’s wrong for me to even look at a woman in a certain way, that it makes me guilty, how much more wrong is it to imagine myself in a Godless world throwing fireballs around brought forth form pagan/occult magic?
You’ll find out that a lot of people/Christians just don’t believe the bible, they have lost their rudder and are in danger of running aground. Just look to Jesus, not them in what you should or should not do by their example, what God may take away He always gives much better in its place.
I just don’t buy that, you are saying that witchcraft is ok and that the bible is not the true word of God. I reject that. From my study of the bible it has proven to be the 100% inspired word of God; He wrote it Himself. Witchcraft and all forms of occult practices are condemned in the eyes of God. I don’t play games with occult content in them because it is playing out a fantasy and we know that is the same as doing it since the bible says that if you even look at a woman in lust you have committed sin in your heart which can be easily applied to pretending you are a witch or what not. But you don’t believe the bible so this is sorta moot.First, that magic is not real. No one seems to understand that. Real Wiccans do not throw fireballs.
Second, I have reason to believe that the only magic the bible actually condemns is the practice of divination. Probably because most of those mediums were frauds and lied and cheated to get money. The ancient Jews lived in harmony with Wiccans, the Jews didn't bother them and they didn't bother the Jews. It was the mediums God commanded to be killed.
Actually that's true. I don't believe everything in the bible as literal and historically accurate fact (especially the New Testament). I believe God.

We’ll that’s why I don’t do it, you seem to have ideas from someplace other than what the bible teaches about it,
I disagree and still will not go back to playing those games. Maybe a link will help you repent from it as well http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-occult.html
So, what is not acceptable in a game?
