If your boss says you’re going to work from 8 to 5 tomorrow does that mean your going to work at 8 and then you’re going to work again at 5 or does that mean your going to constantly work from 8 to 5? So that pretty much shoots down that theory. It won't be just once. It will happen every week.
In Genesis 26:5 Abraham kept God’s commandmentS long before the Ten Commandments were given at Sinai. It's a command (singular)
The Ten Commandments are commandment(s) plural so when we see the commandments of God, My commandments, His commandments Exo 20:6 which are all throughout the bible we know it includes this whole unit of Ten that God wrote and God spoke.
Yes, he sure did because the Ten was given long before they were written at Mt Sinai. We already know this Exo 16:23-29In Genesis 26:5 Abraham kept God’s commandmentS long before the Ten Commandments were given at Sinai.
Okay... But why return on that schedule, once a month and once a week? Most likely because we will be traveling around the universe. Would you be content to sit in one place for eternity?
I don't know if I replied to this or not, since my browser crashed. Most likely because we will be traveling around the universe. Would you be content to sit in one place for eternity?
To me, "So shall your descendants and your name remain" in verse 22 is related to "they shall bring all your brethren" in verse 20.Why don't you look at the context of the passage? The context makes it plain to me that verses 19 and 20 refer to prophecies concerning the Gentiles and from verse 22 on is about heaven.
Because of the context! It looks like it's all one flowing passageI really don't know why you would want to denigrate this other than an antipathy for the Sabbath.
Huh? You're equating from Sabbath to Sabbath. two discrete days, with an 8 hour time span in a single day?,If your boss says you’re going to work from 8 to 5 tomorrow does that mean your going to work at 8 and then you’re going to work again at 5 or does that mean your going to constantly work from 8 to 5? So that pretty much shoots down that theory.
So with an eternity to live you'll never want to explore the rest of the universe? Not me. I'm too curious for that.I don't know if I replied to this or not, since my browser crashed.
My answer is I want to be where God is. I'm sure you want that, too.
If God has a holy mountain, that's where I want to be.
Bible Gateway passage: Isaiah 66:20 - New King James Version
Then they shall bring all your brethren for an offering to the Lord out of all nations, on horses and in chariots and in litters, on mules and on camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem,” says the Lord, “as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord.www.biblegateway.com
I don't understand your reasoning, but that's nothing new.To me, "So shall your descendants and your name remain" in verse 22 is related to "they shall bring all your brethren" in verse 20.
And then the "and they shall come and see My glory" in verse 18 corresponds to verse 23:"All flesh shall come to worship before Me".
Bible Gateway passage: Isaiah 66:18 - New King James Version
“For I know their works and their thoughts. It shall be that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see My glory.www.biblegateway.com
Because of the context! It looks like it's all one flowing passage
Anyways, we also have priests and Levites. Was Jesus talking about the laws regarding Levites in the sermon on the mount as well, in your view?
Here’s an example where God refers to a few of the 10 commandments as ordinances. It's a command (singular)
The Ten Commandments are commandment(s) plural so when we see the commandments of God, My commandments, His commandments Exo 20:6 which are all throughout the bible we know it includes this whole unit of Ten that God wrote and God spoke.
Really? Show me one example where Abraham or anyone before Exodus 16 keeping the sabbath. Exodus 16 just shows God giving a commandment on what to do on the first sabbath recorded in the scriptures. That’s why He said in Exodus 20 to remember the Sabbath because they had already observed it in the wilderness. This is just an attempt to refuse to acknowledge the truth that anything that God commands is a commandment so the words “My commandments” “His commandments” ”God’s commandments” etc etc do not only refer to the 10 commandments. I can’t believe you’re trying to say that the Sabbath was commanded to Abraham when there’s zero evidence to support that nonsense.Yes, he sure did because the Ten was given long before they were written at Mt Sinai. We already know this Exo 16:23-29
Sin is the transgression of God's law 1 John 3:4 and the law that defines sin when broken is the Ten Commandments Romans 7:7
Where there is no law there is no transgression Romans 4:15 which is why it was a "sin" for Cain to commit murder against Abel, because God's law was already given, it was in heaven because Lucifer sinned from the beginning 1 John 3:8 same at the garden. No law, no sin. The earthy temple was modeled after God's heavenly temple Heb 8:1-5 where in heaven is revealed the ark of the covenant Rev 11:19 so we do not need to guess what law is in heaven, the one God did not allow man to write, He personally wrote and personally spoke, and we should keep through love and faith. 1 John 5:3 Romans 3:31
The ordinance and statue is about children paying for their father’s sins, we all pay for our own sins and do not take on the iniquity of others, thats what this is referring to.Here’s an example where God refers to a few of the 10 commandments as ordinances.
“He does not eat at the mountain shrines or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, or defile his neighbor’s wife, or oppress anyone, or retain a pledge, or commit robbery, but he gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with clothing, he keeps his hand from the poor, does not take interest or increase, but executes My ordinances, and walks in My statutes; he will not die for his father’s iniquity, he will surely live.”
Ezekiel 18:15-17 NASB1995
God said the Sabbath started at Creation that God hallowed Exo 20:11 and Jesus said was made for mankind. Mark 2:27 man was created right before the very first Sabbath Gen 2:1-3 and man was made in the image of God to follow Him Gen 1:26 not to do our own thing which is how man was separated from God in the first place.Really? Show me one example where Abraham or anyone before Exodus 16 keeping the sabbath. Exodus 16 just shows God giving a commandment on what to do on the first sabbath recorded in the scriptures. That’s why He said in Exodus 20 to remember the Sabbath because they had already observed it in the wilderness. This is just an attempt to refuse to acknowledge the truth that anything that God commands is a commandment so the words “My commandments” “His commandments” ”God’s commandments” etc etc do not only refer to the 10 commandments. I can’t believe you’re trying to say that the Sabbath was commanded to Abraham when there’s zero evidence to support that nonsense.
I love to explore too! But that's only because there isn't a special holy place here on Earth. So with an eternity to live you'll never want to explore the rest of the universe? Not me. I'm too curious for that.
They are there in the passageI don't understand your reasoning, but that's nothing new.
What priests and Levites do you have? I don't have any. That all went away a couple thousands years ago.
To spend that special day with God. Why else? Look at how fast Gabriel traveled to answer Daniels prayer.I love to explore too! But that's only because there isn't a special holy place here on Earth.
Bible Gateway passage: Psalm 27:4 - New American Standard Bible
One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple.www.biblegateway.com
But why do we return once a month and once a week?
Dan 9:20 And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;
Dan 9:21 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.
Dan 9:22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.
Dan 9:23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.
Okay... What's the special day that happens every month? To spend that special day with God. Why else?
Look at how fast Gabriel traveled to answer Daniels prayer.
Read Daniel 9: 4-19 and see how long it takes you to read.
Gabriel flew from heaven to earth in the time it took Daniel to pray that prayer.
Why does it talk about months or new moons? There isn't one. There are four.
Anyways, we also have priests and Levites. Was Jesus talking about the laws regarding Levites in the sermon on the mount as well, in your view?
Because months are made up of weeks. At least that is my understanding as there is nothing describing any reason for new moon observance in the Bible. If you know differently, show me the scripture. If you don't, stop with the harassment. Why does it talk about months or new moons?
Bible Gateway passage: Isaiah 66:23 - New American Standard Bible
And it shall be from new moon to new moon And from Sabbath to Sabbath, All mankind will come to bow down before Me,” says the LORD.www.biblegateway.com
