I am confused and disheartened by the contention over this.
How is anyone sure?
Why were you and Rachel going back and forth over this?
I was following the discussion, when I was reminded of Psalm 35:3, because
I felt that the Lord was declaring His Name by the anointed Psalmist.
brother p mentioned the Psalms, you posted Isaiah 43, I was comparing them.
What was your point in posting Isaiah 43?
What is your point in posting Psalm 35 now, for that matter?
I can see why Victor expresses concerns for how hard it is to follow your intent!

His earthly name was the same as Joshua's which is why the KJV tranlators made an error with Hebrews 4:8.

Joshua. there was no letter J until around the Year 1600. There is no letter J in Hebrew. The letter is Y.

On to the next: The Letter "o" on Joshua make the "ah" sound. So now we have Yah.

Shua is shua. So we are left with Yahshua.

Next question. The Tree of Life translation, which is Messianic Jewish, renders the Lord's name
Yeshua. Are the team of Hebrew scholars not establishing themselves in that same Trust?
Believe me when I say, that if it is found that they are compromising to some outside influence,
I would be interested. I still do not see why the controversy.
I think I understand the trouble some have with the Greek, and the English that comes directly from
this with Jesus. But now Yeshua isn't good enough? Can't we all just get along?
It becomes difficult to discern contending for the Faith, and striving over academics. MercyMe!
