  Bold Witness Draws Opposition​

  In July, Anuradha shared the gospel with three families in her Sri Lankan village and invited the pastor of her church to pray for them. When word of this reached the local temple, the monk and 50 other people came to Anuradha's house and threatened her to stop these Christian activities. She boldly answered them that she would not stop. A few days later, nearly 80 people came to her home and demanded that she be investigated by the police. Read More.

  Gospel Reaches Beyond Capital City​

  Azerbaijan is a small nation of 10 million people tucked among the Caspian Sea, Iran, Armenia, Georgia and Russia. Its population is 85% Shia Muslim and 2% Christian. Christian ministry efforts have historically focused on the country's capital city, Baku, where 25% of the population lives. But local Christians have increased their efforts to reach beyond the capital. "Christians are using media to connect with Azerbaijanis outside of Baku," said a front-line worker. Read More.

  Christians Remain at Risk​

  Since 2019, the Cabo Delgado region of Northern Mozambique has been the site of extremist Muslim attacks in which thousands have been killed and at least 100,000 displaced. The attackers are part of a group connected to the self-proclaimed Islamic State (ISIS) that seeks to establish a region ruled by sharia law. Some of the deadliest attacks came in 2021 near a massive oil processing installation under construction, garnering worldwide media coverage. Dear Lord, I pray for Anuradha and her witness for you, that you may use it to bring more people to a saving knowledge of Your Truth, that many may accept the Gospel. May none of her words fall to the ground.

I pray for your blessing for those Christians who are looking to connect with people through media in Azerbaijan. Bless their efforts to reach your future children, that their hearts may be encouraged.

Finally, please be with Your children in Mozambique and show Your hand of protection for them. Please move in the hearts of the government there, and strengthen those you have appointed to wield the sword to protect them from these horrible terrorists.
