Jesus used FRUIT OF THE VINE.
As wine is made from the fruit of the vine, it's acceptable.
As grape juice is made from the fruit of the vine, it's acceptable.
Most sabbatarians I have seen on this forum have no sense of humor..........
.
Poor reasoning. All we know from that phrase is that it was either wine or juice, not that it was both at once or that it doesn't matter which it was. But since Jesus did drink wine and it was a standard drink, it's unlikely that the Last Supper featured Welch's grape juice.
Would watermelon wine count?
Fruit of the vine and all?
Tomato juice?
Hmmm???

In that climate grape juice would go bad quickly. No refrigeration...Kristos said:Then what's the difference? Why didn't Jesus just use grape juice and be done with it?
But the fact remains: Jesus drank of the fruit of the vine (Matthew 26:27-29, Mark 14:23-25, Luke 22:17-18).
GRAPE JUICE IS DERIVED FROM THE FRUIT OF THE VINE.
WINE IS DERIVED FROM THE FRUIT OF THE VINE.
So, as long as one is drinking juice derived solely from grapes for the LORD's Supper, they are following Christ's example.
What about very poor early Christians in countries that did not produce wine (or at least not much)? Places where milks, water, or beers were only available?

Lucy is derived from her mother Joan.
Mark is derived from his mother, the same Joan.
Therefore, Lucy is Mark.

Therefore they are interchangeable, right? Because if Lucy was supposed to attend dinner, and Mark shows up instead, you still have the fruit of Joan's womb showing up. Nobody would mind the difference.much logic.

Unfortunately, Mark and Lucy believe that it is unclean and/or scandalous, so they will only accept a substitution of purple Koolaid. And some things just aren't in the church budget.I say give both Mark and Lucy Communion
Not a very attentive host, I see.Yes.
But Koolaid is cheaper than wine.Cappadocious said:Unfortunately, Mark and Lucy believe that it is unclean and/or scandalous, so they will only accept a substitution of purple Koolaid. And some things just aren't in the church budget.
