But hang on. In February I said a sinners prayer and made a decision to commit to Him every day which I AM doing. I always try to obey the 10 commandments

In that case, I'd say you have indeed been born again. It may be that the church you are attending wants you to be baptized now, but faith saves, and what I read here says that you have made a commitment. :)

Ok so I use electricity on the Sabbath etc but I am sure God will overlook that. And yes I eat pork but I am on welfare. So I eat what is available. And there's not much I can buy where I live that is clean.

Those are sins but small sins. You seriously think if I still do those sins it affects my standing with God?

I USED to be saved. Surely our status before God doesn't changed because we no longer read the word and don't spend so long in prayer?

Look. We're dealing with several different issues at once here.

Are you saved? Based on what you've told us, I'd say so.

Are you in jeopardy of losing salvation because you eat pork or use electricity? NO. Those are not even sins, let along a cause of losing one's salvation, but if you continue to let this particular church oppress you and fill you with guilt and fear over nonsense, you will probably go on worrying about such things forever. And for nothing.

The church the prophet was in was Pentecostal. So I left and now go to Church of England. I was first saved in 2006
I got baprised in 2009
I was prophesied that I was still unsaved because I had sin in my lifeand demons in my spirit. So I recommitted my life to Jesus in Feb 2014

Because I've been baptised before my church won't baptise me again. They say I never lost my salvation in the first place because I never renounced God. They say my sin is justpart of life and that all christians sin and that as long as I try to do better and confess to God then I'm ok.

You weren't unsaved and there were no demons in your spirit.

Because I've been baptised before my church won't baptise me again.
That's correct. I didn't know if you'd been baptized yet and speculated that the "prophet's" church might be insisting upon it. But the CofE is right about this--One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism.

They say I never lost my salvation in the first place because I never renounced God. They say my sin is justpart of life and that all christians sin and that as long as I try to do better and confess to God then I'm ok.

That's right. Have we cleared away all the doubts then? :)

Ok. Thanks. I do wonder why all my spiritual fruit stopped growing when things went wrong but depression can take those fruits away I believe. After loving others is impossible when your head is filled with bizarre dark thoughts and horrible mood swings. So I just need to wait for this to pass. I do want to love others and God but there is something missing in my heart. The kind of joy and love and peace that other christians have.

I know. But that's why I think that you need to be patient, not be tormented by all that stuff the "prophet" was putting on you, and just grow in the (CofE) church you now attend.

It takes a little time to get your bearings back, but let it happen by regular attendance; and put aside all those notions of having lost your salvation somewhere along the line. We all can have dark episodes, but periods of non-attendance or doubt are not periods in which we've renounced the faith or that God has renounced us.

Why do you think I haven't made a commitment to Jesus?

We don't want to "focus on the 10 commandments" in order to please God. We want to "focus on Father God" through a prayer relationship that can only be established through Jesus' work on the cross and His righteousness, which gets us into Father God's presences.

Even if you're only spending short times with Him in prayer, that's alright. Don't stop. God will strengthen you and help you grow in Him.

If it helps to hear, there are plenty of other *Christians* like myself who struggle with depression and other forms of mental illness. It can be a difficult walk with God at times when people like you and me compare ourselves with others and as a result feel like we fall SO short of the target of being a "real Christian". You wouldn't get reject a toddler taking his first steps if he fell over a few times would you?

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+7%3A7-11&version=ESV

Going on your first entry you have been through many personal struggles. Inevitably that will leave scars of some variety, sometimes permanent. You need to be fair on yourself. You have identified those weaknesses, so stop punishing yourself for what cannot be changed and what is NOT your fault.

Start with the smallest thing and work from there. I have had to identify what "triggers" my depression, mood swings etc. and take steps to avoid those triggers or nip them in the bud (that is still difficult BTW but I'm getting better). Have you done the same? e.g. dealing with biological factors such as lack of sleep, unbalanced diet, too much (avoidable) stress?

I don't understand what Watchman1 said. I mean I believe in Him and I have tried to make Him my Lord and I believe in His blood saving my sin meaning I have positional righteousness and security in Him.
Isn't that the Gospel?

Now people been telling me have to do MORE than the above? What about having a guarantee of Eternal Life with Jesus? Surely I have done all I need to get to Heaven?

Thanks for clarifying your faith, Notalone. That is good to hear. So many professing Christians do not possess the Savior, so one needs to make that clear in every sincere statement ---exalting His Name and worth. There is a huge difference between professing Christ, and possessing Him in one's heart. Trust Him in everything! Look up always, friend!

When we look for salvation, we have to bring into the talk Jesus the Christ who died in our place for the forgiveness of sins. That's what Watchman was pointing out.

If you are ever doubting your salvation, don't look to yourself, but instead to the Savior who saves. He died for your sins. Do you believe?

Christians can be oppressed by demons. Most are, in fact. Have you looked to find any churches that offer decent deliverance ministry yet? Jesus wants to set you free from oppression so you can have joy and love Him with abandon.
