Ark of the Covenant

“The real one is hidden about a kilometre from here, in underground chambers created during the time of Solomon.” I look at him askance. “It’s true,” he says. “Jews have an unbroken chain of recorded information, passed down from generation to generation, which indicates its exact location. There is a big fascination with finding the lost ark, but nobody asked a Jew. We have known where it is for thousands of years.
It could be reached if we excavated Temple Mount, but that area is controlled by Muslims.”

Sorry, but that's not the case. Ron Wyatt is a complete crackpot. He claims to have scraped blood off the top of the ark which he alleges genetic testing confirmed only had half the chromosomes in it (because it came from Jesus who had only one biological parent and thus was passed only one set from his mother or something).

Of course, for that to be true, Jesus's sex determining genotype was X0 and he was a woman, which I find a little problematic.

Who cares? Our faith is in Christ, not ancient artifacts. If the real, sure nuff Ark was found, you'd have no end of nincompoops going to worship it and trying to find a way to get it and use the magical powers they think it has.

There are too many Christians now who are mired in the Old Testament when it's the Gospel that they need to be thinking about.

Do you often find God doing miracles problematic? I think what Wyatt is saying is plausible and potentially true. It's fascinating the testing of the dried blood showed the blood is still alive after 2000 years. Start watching at the 14m30s mark

When God performed the miracle at Pentecost and said I will put my laws in their hearts and this will be the new covenant between me and them, what does this mean?

(Hebrews 8:10)

So what was in the Ark of the old covenant?

The Ark of the Testimony, is a chest described in the Book of Exodus as containing the Tablets of Stone on which the Ten Commandments were inscribed. According to some traditional interpretations of the Book of Exodus, Book of Numbers, and the Letter to the Hebrews the Ark also contained Aaron's rod, a jar of manna and the first Torah scroll as written by Moses.

1) The Law
2) Numbers was written to the people of Israel to document their journey to the Promised Land, but it also reminds all future readers of the Bible that God the Holy Spirit is with us as we journey toward heaven.
3) The book of Hebrews boldly proclaims the superiority of Jesus Christ and Christianity over other religions, including Judaism. In a logical argument, the author demonstrates Christ's superiority, then adds practical instructions for following Jesus. One of the outstanding features of Hebrews is the "Faith Hall of Fame" of Old Testament people, found in Chapter 11.
4) The Holy Bible becomes Aaron's rod where it is as identified in Ephesians, the sword of the Spirit.
5) The manna represents our daily heavenly bread that God the Holy Spirit provides us in our exodus walk by faith in the worldly spiritual wilderness.
6) The Torah scrolls of Moses for the Old a Covenant believers were his testament. For the New Covenant the Holy Bible becomes the testament of Jesus Christ who was to replace Moses as the kingly chief priest Melchizedek.

The Old Covenant being replaced by a better New Covenant, the Ark of the covenant was no more found on earth, but was established forever in heaven as it's resting place now sits in the Holy of Holies, where our kingly chief priest Jesus Christ resides interceding on our behalf, in the heavenly sanctuary.

Can we find evidence that after the Old Covenant had been replaced and the laws being written in our inward parts, that the Ark of the Covenant now resides with Christ in the heavenly sanctuary?

Revelation 11:19
And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament:and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Where did you come up with such a bizarre idea?

JP

...From his bizarre mind!:D:D^_^^_^^_^

Ron Wyatt found it below the place where Jesus was crucified.

Right; and I've got the Brooklyn Bridge up for sale at a really good price too; special today and today only!;)

I think there is a good possibility that it may indeed be in the care of the Ethiopian Church. I saw a program once where they did show artifacts that related to the priestly vestments from the temple period. If these got there, there is a possibility that the Ark and other things did also.

Bottom line, if it is or is not there, it should not matter to us Christians.

Wouldn't it be something if the Ark of the Covenant really is located under the cross of Yeshua and that His blood trickled down onto the mercy seat during His crucifixion ?
It would be incredible!

In the Eastern Orthodox icon of the crucifixion, Adam's skull is located under the cross.

Agreed, and another thing that has it's own problems is if His blood was dripping down on the Ark from the crucifixion site, then so would the blood of who knows how many others the Romans killed on that site both before and after.

I find Jesus being a woman problematic. I believe Mary was miraculously caused to bear a son despite being unable to provide the necessary Y chromosome. That doesn't mean Christ was a genetic female presenting with male sex organs due to some miracle; it means God provided the Y. Ron Wyatt doesn't understand genetics.

How bout making an icon with the head of the serpent under the heel of the feet of Christ on the cross

Genesis 3:15 And enmity I am setting between thee and between the woman, and between seed of thee and between seed of her,
he, he shall hurt thou head, and thou, thou shall hurt him heel".

Revelation 12:14 And were given to the woman the two wings of the great eagle, that she may be flying into the wilderness into the place of her
where she is being nourished there season, seasons and half equal season from face of the Serpent.

John 20:29-31

Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31 but these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

I think we are to have faith and believe what was witnessed at the time of Christ. My opinion is that we will never have "physical proof" per say.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Actually it should be rendered "sanctuary", which was located inside the Temple

[FWIW, the greek word for "temple" is never used once in all of Revelation]

Reve 15:8 And is being replete the Sanctuary/naoV <3485> of smoke out of the Glory of the God and out of the power of Him.
And no one was *able to be entering into the Sanctuary/naon <3485> until should be being finished the seven blows/stripes of the seven Messengers.
