Which is also the case with the democrats. The impression they give is their main focus and goal is keeping Trump and the MAGAs out, while keeping everything else on the back burner unattended to. I think most Americans are tired of that circus, and there's only one way to put and end to it. We don't care about all their politicizing nonsense when we're paying hundreds of dollars for weekly groceries and gas.
I don't think you'll get rid of that no matter which party you vote for.

The Republicans aren't as likely to be putting so much time and resources into the Maga threat to democracy routine. Whereas the democrats are likely to keep at it full tilt for another two years, while the nation goes down the drain.

They have their own routine.

What they don't have is a plan on how to deal with the inflation issue.

How the republicans deal with inflation and other problems remains to be seen, whereas how the democrats deal with it and other issues has been seen, and what's been seen is ugly and scary and is getting worse by the day, and then there's them denying that there's a problem on top of that.

Why does it have to "remain to be seen"? Why can't they propose their solutions now, if they have any? If they don't, it leads me to believe that they have no solution and are just making vague promises they don't intend to fulfill.

Historian Heather Cox Richardson has revealed what Republicans will do to address the concerns of their constituents should they take over the House in November.

"House Republicans today released a 1050-page “report” laying out their priorities for what they expect will be their takeover of the House."

Tackling inflation? Uh-uh. Improving the Economy? Think again.

No!! They will be prosecuting all sorts of imagined grievances and slights--1050 pages worth, none of which will do anything to help their economically struggling constituents.

If you want Representatives who will do their jobs, and you haven't voted yet, you can stop this nonsense.

Article about Senate takeover says that if Republicans win the Senate they will try to "solve inflation" by further depleting the U.S. treasury, making some 2017 business tax cuts permanent, firing those new IRS agents who catch tax cheats, and reversing the business tax increases on gazillionaires in the inflation reduction act.

Should Republicans in the House put forth legislation that has no chance of passing?
Yes. If it's really for the good of the country put it forward, publish it throughout the media and if the people want it they will support it. Then it's a matter of getting it passed with true bipartisan support.
They should at least try, they'll get credit for trying and when an election rolls around they are more likely to add to their ranks.

I think they're more likely to add to their ranks by doing nothing and blocking everything the democrats try, thus putting the country on a downward trajectory which is then handily blamed on Biden.

Yes, anything Republicans could do remains to be seen.

What an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE party platform to take into an election.

And to think that they could win with a "meh....we don't have a plan to tell you right now"; depressing how low a standard one can have for elected reps.

and what's been seen is ugly and scary and is getting worse by the day, and then there's them denying that there's a problem on top of that.
What they have done has NOT been scary. a 1% drop is SOMETHING.
and they did that by what...openning up oil reserves and passing legislation aimed at reducing inflation. Were their certain parts of this legislation that was terrifying to you?

To say nothing of the helpful things they have voted against that would have a DIRECTLY positive impact on so many Americans.

So all of the republican candidates said "meh....we don't have a plan to tell you right now"? They'll all lose for sure if that's really the case. But I seriously doubt it is.

I was referring to civil law and order and morality going down the drain.

If the idea is getting bi-partisan and media support, they could have put forth this legislation even with the Dems in charge. The Republican house is not planning on proposing anything in order to get bi-partisan support. Their fearless leader would not allow that to take place.

I yearn for those days when we made politicians actually work for our vote. Republicans do so little for America...
Because they can. Work is too hard!

Here's a crazy idea - maybe work with their peers and put together something which has a chance?

Nah, let's let blind ideology get in the way of trying to make the country better - the GOP way.

Yeah, ignoring (or even embracing) that is yet another reason to vote against them.
The democrats ignoring or even embracing much more serious problems is the main reason to vote against them.
