Many threads have done away with the supernatural power in scriptures. No devil, no power gifts to deliver from the adversary.
Yes and they fail to read that John tells you I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
Rev 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

Rev 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

Reading Isa 14:4, "That you shall take up this proverb against the **king of Babylon,** and say, How has the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!", it becomes clear that this is the king of Babylon and his nation that is being spoken of here.
While this mythological information is available to scholars today via translated Babylonian cuneiform text taken from clay tablets, it was not as readily available at the time of the Latin translation of the Bible.
Thus, early Christian tradition interpreted the passage as a reference to the moment Satan was thrown from Heaven. Lucifer became another name for Satan and has remained so due to Christian dogma and popular tradition

Lucifer
The name is a cognate of the Hebrew word Shachar (שחר) meaning dawn.

It is used as a proper name or title only four times in the Old Testament, vis. (with the article) in Job 1:6, 12; 2:1; Zech 2:1 and without the article in 1 Chr 21:1

Job says that it was all the evil which the LORD had brought upon him

Job 42:11 Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him

In mainstream Judaism there is no concept of a devil like in mainstream Christianity or Islam. In Hebrew, the biblical word ha-satan means "the adversary" or the obstacle, or even "the prosecutor" (recognizing that God is viewed as the ultimate Judge).
Much "Satanic" lore does not originate from actual Satanists, but from Christians. Best-known would be the medieval folklore and theology surrounding demons and witches.

The belief of the Hebrews down to the Babylonian exile seems but dimly to have recognized either Satan or demons, at least as a dogmatic tenet, nor had it many occasions for them, since it treated moral evils as a properly humans act (comp. Gen. 3), and always as subjective and concrete, but regarded misfortunes according to teleological axioms, as a punishment deserved on account of sin at the hand of a righteous God, who inflicted it especially by the agency of one of his angels (2 Sam. 24,16; comp. 2 kings xix, 35), and was according looked upon as the proper author of every afflictive dispensation (Amos 3, 64,

But what idiom is the word used for as ζιζάνιον cheat; weedy annual grass that often occurs in grain fields and other cultivated land; seeds sometimes considered poisonous as an idiom of someone who leads you to believe something that is not true; (mistakenly) cockle, tares which are a (synonym) darnel, tare

Yet in all this he is as little like the Ahriman of the Zend Aνesta (Rhode, Heil. Sage, p. 182 sq.; Matthai, Religionsgloube d. Apostel, II, i, 171 sq.; Creuzer, Symbol. i. 705) as an indifferent prosecuting attorney general or judicial superintendent commissioned by Jehovah.

Notice how it goes? A million words, and poof, no more devil or demons....
And so the gifts of power that Jesus said we should walk in are neatly done away with modern
speak.

when you consider Jesus healed the sick, even leprosy, he drove out demons, he commanded demons, he rebuked the devil, he raised the dead, he calmed the seas, he fed thousands on next to nothing and says and you, the believer, will do even greater things than I, yet people say we have no authority in the name of Jesus to do amazing things, If we are to do even greater than Jesus how can we have been left powerless it makes no sense at all..

When did Jesus appoint you a disciple? Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Mt 10:1 And he, himself, having bid his twelve disciples, gave them authority
over verminous spirits, so that to cast them out, and to cure all sickness and all disease.

Well, he did drive out evil people. Where do you see demons?John 2:15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

However he did cure people who were possessed G4583>moon struck, that is, crazy and restored them free from mental disorders

Mat 4:24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with mental disorders, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

Mat 17:15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is a lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.

Mat 7:22 On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out mental disorders in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?'

Mr 5:15 And they came to Jesus, and viewed the one having been possessed,
sitting, and having been clothed, and free from having many mental disorders: and they feared.

Lu 8:35 Then people went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and free from mental disorders, and they were afraid.
36 And those who had seen it told them how the possessed man had been
rescued from harm.

Luk 8:35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

Have heard the teachings of all the gifts passing away with the apostles, just doesn't give the life and joy that the living Word the Holy Spirit brings.
May you find peace with all you have learned.
Love covers a multitude of sins, may we show that love to each other. (Instead of threats)

Sorry, but I am not your adversary. But Who is your adversary? We often look for someone else to blame--even God. It can be humbling, even humiliating to look in the mirror and see the one who's doing you the most harm. We always have a choice. Sometimes that choice is hard, and we may not like it, but let's recognize that we do have a choice. So...Stop being your own worst enemy.

Many attempt to distort what the Bible teaches about anyone who is an adversary. What did Jesus say? "Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord. ".
Proverbs 18:13 (NIV) – To answer before listening- that is folly and shame.

Matthew 13:47 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, 48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, 51 Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.

In the fourth pair of the parables of Matthew 13, Jesus continues to instruct His disciples apart from the general multitude to which He had spoken earlier. The seventh parable in the chapter, the Parable of the Dragnet (verse 47) teaches that in the professing church, the good and evil who intermingle on earth will be completely separated "at the end of the age." This set time of separation will be, for the good, a time of rejoicing in a bright, eternal future, but for the evil, it will be a time of mourning before eternal oblivion.

Amo 5:14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.

Matthew 10:39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. (Matthew 16:25; Mark 8:35, Luke 9:24; 17:33; John 12:25).

Ps 34:16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

Pro 10:7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot. shall rot — literally, “be worm-eaten,” useless and disgusting. [JFB]
But the name of the wicked shall rot -The very name of the wicked is as offensive as putrid carrion. [CLARKE]

God created all things; God makes all things new. Keep this in mind as you read. First, we need to identify who made the snake/aka Satan.
Genesis 3:3 The snake was more clever than all the wild animals Yahweh Elohim had made.

Next, we need to know why ALL things ARE of God. Colossians 1 states that, "things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created for him and on account of him." It shows that the Father (invisible God) created all things for the benefit of the Son of God.

Exo 12:29 And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.

Realize that Yahweh made an adversary/aka Satan for Job (Necessitated it by need).
Job 1:6 One day when the sons of Elohim came to stand in front of Yahweh, ha-Satan acting as the adversary came along with them.

Job 19:21 Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.
6:4 For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof drinketh up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.
31:23 For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his highness I could not endure.

In many places, we note that the ha-Satan is the adversary. We get a hidden clue to this back in Zechariah 3:3 Then he showed me Joshua, the chief priest, standing in front of the Messenger of Yahweh ha-Satan, acting as an adversary, was standing at Joshua’s right side to accuse him. 2 Yahweh said to ha-Satan, “I, Yahweh, silence you, ha-Satan! I, Yahweh, who has chosen Jerusalem, silence you! Num 22:27 And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam's anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff.

And the same as when the LORD opened the mouth of the snake/aka Satan
28 And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?

2Sa 24:16 And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite.
17 And David spake unto the LORD when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father's house.

Act 12:23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Easily one of the most neglected but powerfully galvanizing forces shaping history in the world today is the prophecy of Gog and Magog from the 38th and 39th chapters of the book of Ezekiel such as Persia (Iran) and Libya as the Muslim invasions and attempted invasions of Israel in 1948, 1956, 1967, 1973, 1982, and 2000 to the present, demonstrate.

Today, the nations occupying the territories of Ezekiel’s prophecy (Paras, Cush, and Put) are, respectively, Iran, Sudan, and Libya—precisely the “peripheral” nations that commentators insisted could not be associated

The unique alignment of nations against Israel—In addition, the alignment of the nations mentioned in 38:5 “Persia, Cush, and Put” cannot be disregarded simply because of their diverse geographical locations.80 This
very reality strongly argues in favor of a modern application of Ezekiel’s prophecy.

During the past 50 years, it has been Russia—the contemporary candidate for the Rosh of Ezekiel—who armed nations hostile to Israel with weapons and military experts, their geographic distance being at that time
irrelevant. On the other hand, in the early 1980s, after the Islamic/socialist revolutions in Libya (Ezekiel’s Put), Iran (Paras), and Sudan (the biblical Cush)—and the rising tide of Islamic fundamentalism that swept over all the Middle East—cooperation and coordination between the Islamic regimes in Libya, Iran, and Sudan was not at all problematic.

Significantly, these three Arab nations are on record as being the most vociferously anti-Zionist of the Arab world. They also represent the most aggressive Islamic states in their training and export of terrorism worldwide. Iran (Ezekiel’s Paras/Persia) underwent an Islamic revolution at the end of the 1970s that reoriented the country against the West—whom Arabs call “the Crusaders”—and against Israel.82 Libya (Ezekiel’s Put) follows the radical Islamic agenda of its leader, Mu‛ammar Qadhafi, and represents a major player within Islamic extremism. *NOTE* Especially in view of recent developments and his recent demise and overthrow of the radical Islamic agenda of its leader, Mu‛ammar Qadhafi. and the Brotherhood of Islamic takeover.

In mentioning these nations, it appears that Ezekiel affirms the very point that some commentators wish to deny: That Israel will be attacked from every point of the compass—perhaps by those representing every nation on earth. *NOTE* Including the USA.

These days, the Islamic government of (northern) Sudan (Ezekiel’s Cush) is waging a brutal war against the Christian and animist Sudanese in the southern part of the country, killing them by the tens and hundreds of thousands a year, selling prisoners into slavery, and compelling young girls to marry Muslim men, thereby forcing their conversion and genital mutilation. So we now see a remarkable and intimate association of three radical Islamic states which are committed to one goal: the annihilation of Israel, and are the very countries Ezekiel said would ultimately strive mightily toward this purpose (cf. Psalm 83:1-8a).

This picture conforms well with the tone of a number of other biblical prophecies that portray Israel standing alone against the onslaught of “all nations. “The Arab Jihad Against Israel,” Jeff Jacoby, The Boston Globe. <http://www.cdnfriendsicej.ca/isreport/jihad.html>. “Praise be to God, who revealed the Book, controls the clouds, defeats factionalism, and says in His Book, ‘But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war).’” <http://www.fas.org/irp/world/para/docs/980223-fatwa.htm> published in Arabic in Al Quds [Jerusalem] Al Arabi, 23 February 1998.

Ask Ronnie or Mr. Bush what he thought! Even before his presidential terms, California’s Governor Ronald Reagan showed a strong interest in the prophecies of Ezekiel 38 and 39.
It was the “fierce Old Testament prophet Ezekiel,” Reagan said, who had best “foreseen the carnage that would destroy our age.” At that point Reagan spoke with “firelit intensity” about Libya having gone Communist and insisted, “that’s a sign that the day of Armageddon isn’t far off.” At the 1982 National Religious Broadcasters convention, Reagan said Armageddon would usher in the Second Coming of Christ.

He believed, for example, that the Arab nations of the Middle East would participate in the End Time invasion of Israel. On this basis he also correctly predicted the fall of Ethiopia. Moreover, the same prophecy may have shaped the President’s relations with Libya—a nation he saw (in Ezekiel 38:5, under the name “Put”) allied with Ezekiel’s Rosh against Israel. In April, 1986, American and British aircraft attacked Benghazi and Tripoli (almost killing Libyan President Ghadafi) in retaliation for the deaths of several American military personnel killed in the bombing of a discotheque in Germany by Libyan terrorists.

American support for Israel did not derive from current economic and political “realities,” or even, principally from the decreasing influence of the vaunted “American Jewish lobby,” but rather from strong conservative Christian tradition, based on the Bible and history, and colored by an apocalyptic understanding of current events based in large part on the prophecies of Ezekiel nor the imagined prospects for peace between the “Palestinians” and the Israelis had, at the approach of the new millennium, seriously modified North American apocalyptic expectations of an invasion of Israel from the North.

We can guess at what is coming yet in the future, certainly if it is using biblical prophecy, there is not anything wrong with that if we don't tell others things to have them believe that we know it for certainty. Yahweh alone knows for certainty that which for us is yet coming. And we cannot be in a position to judge others generally as Yahweh is, and it is better to withhold such judgment, while still speaking of the truth, if we have it to share.

There is indeed want of more love in churches such as the ones I have been to, even these otherwise right for going to with the right gospel. The model of church with the love acted out, for which early believers were known, is the original one, under the apostles who had been with Christ personally and been taught by him, with the thousands of them still acting as a family with that love staying in unity, though certainly at the start there must have been some different understandings with more remaining to be learned. It is not impossible for a church, they came to do that and quickly, and churches might do that now, I have yet to learn that there is any such church, still. There is the wider surrounding culture that distracts any from that. We who are believers can still be instruments for change towards greater unity in love in the faith.

That all would come to being fully restored to relationship with Yahweh God would need that assurance shown in passages in the Bible. Terms shown such as perishing don't help establish that. What I would find in the Bible would help my understanding more than my own thinking in matters like that.

Health is important for all in any case. Eating right is relevant and I can say things for that. I can say I know feet need some relief from footwear for benefit.

Stephen Kendall said:
The power of love, obeying Jesus, is a key wall mover and faith maker & builder. Please continue. I am some times at wit's end here with contrary views, but try to respect everyone the best that I can. We do need to obey Jesus, even before thinking that we need to be religious.

I may be approaching the middle of my long water fast. Saturday night would be day 15, the second mile stone. It seems that I have much more energy, ability and determination, not to mention strength and determination, as well as praises for our God. My feet are changing by the day. I guess I am no longer obese. My blood pressure seems stubborn to stay around 125/75, but I expect it to dip any day. There were about three days that my weight won't move. It was a puzzle, until I realize that my feet were feeling much better. I suppose that plague is more dense in energy than fat. The tissue in my feet has seemed bloated and with poor circulation, may be filled with things like plague in the many awkward looking blood vessels. I can't afford a doctor, but God built us an amazing body that can heal itself. That might be one of the reasons for us to fast and pray. It is spiritually healthy and very good for our physical health as well. Our Father is always looking out for us. Praise him alway. To me, his name is Father..

I have not been watching for your further communication, I hope you are doing much better at this point. For good circulation in the feet, I happen to really know, walking plenty while barefoot is important for that. This should be done if feeling in the feet isn't lost. Footwear will generally give some constriction impoverishing circulation. And further, a well-rounded vegetarian and even vegan diet would be good for issues you have, but with your being informed for that, so look for such information for that online. If there is too much of a problem with doing that feel free to personally message me.

I also do speak of love and being obedient, to what Yahweh God, the heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, has said. The Bible is not against religion, but the only right religion is with such love, to be generally shown throughout in anything in living, and obedience, all of which will come in growth spiritually with those truly redeemed, in Jesus Christ, according to faith in which any come to him. But it is just in this in which there is salvation, those things they should do will come with fruit of God's Spirit as they grow.
