Is this something that will condem me to hell

AS every one has already said, no it will not send you to hell. But if It get out of control, with heavy drinking, you will be living a living hell right here on earth. There is no one I know who started off drinking, thought they would one day be a alcoholic one day. If you can have (only) a few drinks then stop, you would be fine, but if you find you can not stop after 3 drinks, then there may be trouble in your future. By best to you.

drinking in and of itself isnt sin. Idolatry is a sin and anything that becomes an idol in your life and takes over then becomes a sin. moderation is the key. Have a drink or two when you go out. Getting drunk leads to other bad things because you lose control of your thoughts and do things you wouldnt do under normal circumstances. Not only that but it can lead to alchoholism. An idol is anything you spend more time with than God. Fill yourself with God.

amanda hon,it's not the drinking that validates going to hell but what you do when you're drinking.alcohol in excess is not worthwhile to your relationship wth God because ending up "drunk" is not showing self worth.same old thing your parents will tell you im sure but eventually you'll get what is your priority.Your young i imagine, and we've all been young:) .just remember to treat yourself in a manner that fosters self worth honey.

I like to go out with my friends sometimes and have drinks. I don't do anything "bad" when I go out. This is a way that my girffriends and I go out. MOST of the time I have too much and end up drunk.... This i maybe only once a month or less. My mother told me that the bible states that "your body is a temple" etc... I exercise daily, eat organic, take lots of supplements and take GREAT care of my body otherwise. I just love wine. Is this something that will condem me to hell?

Drinking doesn't send anyone to hell. Mankind is separated from relationship with God, and unless that separation is repaired by accepting Christ as Savior, the result is going to hell.

Drinking to excess, however can harm us personally, and harm our relationship with other people. As Paul pointed out, just because something is not forbidden does not mean that it is profitable.

If you are talking about drinking in bars stay out of there. It is a legal place for satan Angels to enter you.
Those are legal places for satan to enter your body and start controling you life to get you to hell with them.
Satans Angels us drugs and sex to get people into a relationship with them.
Satans angels enter your body in the front. If your in a
bar and end up having sex with someone you have invited satans angels into your life and because your
drunk you dont even know they entered you.
I am a christian been one for 35 years and also have the
holy spirit with gift number 7 of the nine i can see satans Angels on people and i also can see Gods Angels
Give satan a entra point and you will be his and only
a christian with the power of God on them can break you free from them then.
Dont move into anything that has the remote possiblebility of getten them into your life, science most
Christian cant see them unless they have gift 7 they can
be next to you and they wont know it.
On this very forum i have had Gods Angels removed satans Angels from people because they dident know what they were doing was bringing these Angels into their life.

As I remember, Christ said he'd share the "drink of the vine", (or something along that line) in heaven. And it has been proven that a drink or two a couple times a week significantly reduces your chance of heart attacks.
How long have you been listening to satan.Just how close to hell do you wont to get
Satan uses drugs
Now if christ makes the drink thats ok but who do you think is
controling this world and ever thing in it.?
Satan and his Angels.

Satan and his Angels.

This makes no sense.

Paul ststed that a little wine is good for the stomach. Doctors today will tell you the same thing.

Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding celebration.

Are you saying that Paul was under Satan's control?

Would Jesus aid Satan?

I think that it has been said earlier in this thread: Drinking in moderation is fine. Drinking to excess is a different matter.

The only thing that will send you to hell, though, is rejecting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

:priest: I love what christi has said here and want to add that getting drunk can lead you to reject Jesus if it becomes more than a social every now and then drink. I know for me 1 or 2 just isnt enough and although i can usually stay in control while drinking, it can become an addiction for me and all I can think about is more alcohol and therefore spend more time drinking and less and less time is spent with God. So in answer to your question if you have full self control and are not overdoing it then you'll be fine:wave:

No, As long as you are of age and you drink responsibly. No driving or getting drunk you are fine. Jesus and all of his disciples drank wine at every meal and event they attended. If Jesus does something than I say it is OK in my book.

One or two glasses of wine with a meal is fine. Going out with friends, getting drunk, and doing things which drinking causes you to do is not good. I say there are a lot better, and more wholesome things to do than going bar hopping. This can only get you into trouble, and probably deep trouble, eventually. Please heed the warnings of those who have "been there, done that." I never have, but pay attention to those with the experience of what social drinking can come to.

There is only one thing that will send anyone to hell and that is refusing to accept the free gift of pardon that is offered to us through Christ

Dear Amanda,

Your mother is right, your body is considered a temple. A place which is inhabited by your soul and The Spirit.

I once drank with my friends on a fairly often schedule. Not always getting ripped, but always tipsy. I thought it was fun, and besides, I felt that I acted cooler when I drank and, therefor, people liked me better. Oh, how wrong I was. Drinking is not cool. Your not cooler because you drink. And your real friends will tell you the truth if you ask them.

Whether you can be sent to Hell for drinking I can not judge. Let's look at it this way. When your drunk, you can not control your judgements and when you lose control of your ability to make sound decisions, you are at risk of harming yourself or others. If this occurs, then yes, God would not be pleased with you.

Drinking is a choice you make sober. What choices you make drunk do not excuse you from any consequences of your drinking. So please, Amanda, think very carefully before you take that next drink. I know. I have been there and it can get real scary and rough in a big hurry. You won't even see it coming.

Wishing you all the best success and joy.

God's blessings to you and yours
Tolly

I don't recommend you get drunk. Getting drunk is a sin. However, what was the first miracle from Jesus in the Bible?

You should read Ephesians 5:18. It doesn't matter how much you take care of your body. Everyone sins and God does not value sin. When you die you either go to heaven or hell. Read John 3:5 No man or woman can enter into the kingdom of God unless he is born of the water and spirit. From this point on you have the chance to give your life to Jesus. No one can get to heaven except through Jesus. Salvation in Jesus. I am not telling you where you are going but if you aren't a Christian and don't know Jesus in a personal way then that person will go to hell. If you are a Christian you have to turn away from getting drunk. There isn't a problem with having a glass or two but not getting drunk. When you get drunk it grieves the spirit and you are left to deal with the consequences on your own. DUI. You can hide things from people but Jesus sees everything you do and hears every thought you have. Good luck.

I'm jumping into the middle of this thread without reading all of the past discussion so if I repeat some of your advice please overlook mine. My heart aches for anyone who fears eternity. I think if you have an accurate understanding of the plan of salvation please focus on growing in faith and utilizing the tools that God has given us to fight temptations. One of the best passages in the Bible in my opinion is the verses that list the fruit of the Spirit. (Gal. 5:22,23) They are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, and if you ask God to fill you with the spirit and seek His will with an honest heart, you will find His grace and strength sufficient to live above temptation.

:) He was also reluctant.

Also, remember Paul's statement that while everything is permissible, not everything is beneficial? Why do what is beneficial on the grounds that we have freedom in Christ? Paul tells us not to do that. "A drink or two". What is the purpose of 'a drink or two?' Peer pressure? That is so high school it is not funny. People either drink to get drunk or to join in the festive crowd. Stop and check your motives.
