I saw Wicked in Chicago over Christmas break actually with my mom and dad and younger sister who was 8. It was AMAZING I was blown away by the singing and the plot was genius. I would deffinatly see it again if given the chance. Wicked is my favorite musical of all time.

I had to sing the songs in chorus a few years ago. I hated it at first because it wasn't Phantom of the Opera and I wanted to sing that instead. lol. But then later I gave it another shot and listened to the music and watched it, and I love it now. :)

I LOVE WICKED! I saw it last year on Broadway, and I literally cried during some parts. I knew all the music by heart before I went and I've been completely in love with it for almost 2 years now. I'd strongly recomend it to anyone who enjoys powerhouse vocals and a fun, upbeat storyline. ;D

I've read the book, have the soundtrack, and have seen clips of the show on YouTube. My favorite Elphaba is Idina, most likely because she was the first Elphie I ever came across, and after one gets used to one voice it's hard to really like another. :p I want to see this so badly, and surprise my best friend with tickets for her 16th birthday, but I doubt that will happen.

I don't know about you guys but after watching Wicked in Melbourne, I no longer see the Wicked Witch of the West as the same anymore. When I first saw the Judy Garland movie as a child I thought "ok she is a typical villian, doesn't like people very much, really wants power, will hurt those who stand in her way, a dead ugly person (in the musical she is not so ugly) and quite a big bad bully with powers"

But after the musical I was surprised she was not an evil woman in the first place. She is an intelligent but lonely girl who doesn't agree with the Wizard of Oz's laws on Animals. And the big question that Glinda asks is "Are people born wicked, or is wicked thrusted upon them?"

By the way I have a song in my head right now "defying gravity"

So if you care to find me
Look to the western skies
Because some one told me lately
Everyone deserves a chance to fly
And when I'll be flying solo
I will be flying free!

Wicked is awesome.
I saw it 3 times when it was here in Phoenix, and have seen it twice in L.A. :D

I love Idina as Elphie. Her new CD came out recently, I strongly recommend it :)

I love Wicked, I haven't seen it but have read the novel and do own the soundtrack. Idina Menzel will always be my favourite Elphaba, but that is because she's the original, and her Defying Gravity? Mindblowing.

I'm a Menzel fanatic. Her voice is amazing.

Wicked is just amazing, the scenes I've seen at least. I'm going to see it soon, probably this fall in Georgia. I'd recommend it to anyone, and it's very disappointing that Schwartz didn't win anything from his music, because it is flawless.

Lucky You!

Living in Brisbane, I wasn't able to travel south and see it - which made me kind of sad - moreso that it only played in Melbourne (actually - that says alot about our theatre scene).

I hope it runs for a much longer season - so I can eventually see it!
