This thread has been reported, but instead of closing it down, I'm going to give my thoughts instead.
If people cannot understand or see the bigger picture, and see what an unbelievable opportunity this is to evangelize, then I pity that person. I could care less if a Catholic, Protestant, Messianic Jew or Non-Denom made this movie. Open your eyes and understand the opportunity here!!
If half of the complainers could grasp the concept of the opportunity that has literally fallen into our laps, they wouldn't be griping on a messageboard. They'd be listening to the questions from the seekers and answering what it is they need to know to have eternal life with the Lord!!
I'm an evangelical, and I'll tell you what. How Mel Gibson portrayed Mary was phenomenal. I'm a mother, and I can't even BEGIN to imagine how that poor woman felt watching her son being shredded then nailed to the cross, and knowing her entire life it was going to happen.
For the people who are critical of Mary; have some compassion and try to understand, to the minimal degree that you can, what she went through. If you do, I'm sure that your criticism will be lessened.
Instead of picking apart every single detail of this movie, take the opportunity to get the moss off of your behinds and witness to the unbelievers who may have questions.
