  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Everyone was fooled and got kicked out of the garden including the serpent who was cursed.

It was only after God made Eve from Adams side that she tricked him into eating the fruit of the knowlege of good and evil.

God was the only one not fooled he was the only one still in charge. Mankind was however forgiven. It took Christ death on the cross however for that forgivness to become permenent.

I made no such claim. You have misrepresented what I have said.

I'm saying the physical world is neither good nor bad, it is what it is and that cannot be changed. What we learn about those physical properties is what we call science. If evil comes of science it is people who create that evil, not science.

What you learn about temporal state physical only properties is not even relative to the creation debate for the most part. As for your claims....maybe make them clearly again, so we can take an honest second boo...:)

AH GOTCHA! So God purposely planted the tree (Landmine) as a trap! Hmmmm!!!! Makes sense to me! Thank you for clarifying this to me; Now it all makes sense because I could not understand why God who knew beforehand exactly the outcome of all his actions would allow the serpent to entice Eve.

All in the grand scheme of things!
No news there. Yes God planted the garden. What, you though an alien snuck in?

There are interesting new findings out that really deflate the climate change denial group. In fact four new papers are being presented by a Berkley research team which includes well known climate scientists Judith Curry and Richard Muller who are also climate change skeptics. What really is interesting is that the project was in part funded by climate change denier Charles Koch. Putting even more icing on the cake is a statement by well known climate change denier and blogger Anthony Watts who when the study was commissioned stated that he would support the findings whatever the outcome. He's doing some very uncomfortable wiggling right now.

What did they find? That what 97% of all practicing climate scientists have been saying all along is correct.

Serpents that speak, forbidden fruit, Plants before light:confused: Yeah right!
Not just serpents...God spoke as well as possibly all creatures. But expressing personal incredulity about what happened long before you or science existed is neither here nor there.

How long term can the claimed warming of the surface of earth be shown to be? A hundred years? A few decades? ..?? Unless we had started this in Noah's day, how would it be meaningful?
So called experts seem to be like lawyers...one could hire one to defend one's agenda!

Since well before Noah's time, global average temperatures have not risen as rapidly or as much as they have over the past 100 years, and especially since the mid 1970's.

True it won't have much of an effect on you and I, but consider our grandchildren. As for Al Gore, he is not a climate scientist, he's a politician.

What is meaningful about it is that global average temperatures have not risen as high or as rapidly as in the past century as it has since before Noah's time. Understand that we are describing global average temperature. The Earth does not heat uniformly. The high latitudes are warming much much more than than the low latitudes. Arctic and Greenland ice mass loss has exceeded predictions and is accelerating.

Also, Zimmerman is pretty far behind the times. Climate scientists I spoke with a couple of years ago told me that this was highly unlikely.

But your comparison with the flood is just plain wrong and contradicts nearly all of science.

Yikes! I just reread my post and I kind of phrased it incorrectly. I kind of bummed it up trying to include dad's Noah reference. Here is what I meant to say.

Better, though Noah likely never existed in the first place. It also won't work on dad because he thinks that the laws of physics changed completely during the flood and we can't know anything that happened then.

Quantum physics comes to mind. If physics changed at the quantum level, then the earth could not exist prior to Noah's flood. Additionally, why does everything below the level of Noah's flood contain the same physics as everything above it?

Oh, there are so, so many reasons why dad's statements are wrong. But he believes there was some sort of transition from a spiritual state to a physical one, and everything we think we are seeing that contradicts his beliefs is a manifestation of this transition. So he can, within his world view, explain absolutely everything that appears to contradict it.

No sense arguing, really.

Let's see you support his claim. Particularly over a few thousand years ago.....I bet you can't.

True it won't have much of an effect on you and I, but consider our grandchildren. As for Al Gore, he is not a climate scientist, he's a politician.

"It" doesn't exist if you attach "it" to some imaginary unproven past state nonsense. Relax.

Your post has lost context. To whose claim are you referring?

Context again dad. What doesn't exist to what unproven past?

Rick G your quantum physics stuff is just a bunch of hot air you are not saying anything with it. Why don't you get on track and talk about GW or the topic at hand. The topic at hand is basics from the Bible I think and other things.

No. I suspect that the great nature change was over a century after the flood.
