evil people sometimes try to deceive themselves into thinking that they are not doing anything wrong, it's part of how they justify their evil actions towards others. some must turn the ones they oppress into the bad guy because it's easier to hate and have disgust for people when you think or act like they are evil.

since evil is a lack of goodness it means that there is a kind of ignorance tied to those who are evil. one who has not beheld and saturated in the beatific vision of God will have something inferior as a replacement for their mode of being and morality.

ignorance does not always mean that someone is merely blind. to ignore goodness is willful blindness. but some don't have enough hope and they don't exist within the correct confines and consequences of society for them to believe that being decent to others is worth it.

it's still spiritual slavery to be good because society forces you into it but we all start off as slaves and it's good to have somewhat useful things in our life to point us ever upwards.

to some unknown degree people might not have real control over their actions. a tumor in the right spot of the brain will get a grandpa to become a pedophile and to rape his 8 year old grand daughter and another tumor had a man in texas go on a rampage with a gun.

but God is always just in his judgments and in that we may take comfort in and also adore God for being such.
