Yet they were physical beings? Really makes you wonder...
I'm beginning to re-think this philosophy when I began trying to "follow" Christ's lifestyle.
He frequently made long hikes into the mountains, presumably without eating nor drinking. I started doing this to some extent, only resting on Sundays. There is some dangers involved. After all, it's all about denying yourself, losing your life for His sake
Dramatically reduced my sexual cravings. And without these cravings gave me a much more objective perspective at observing male-female relationships.
The lifestyle is HARD, but I continue doing for some reason, the memory of the pain leaves my mind completely each time. All I can remember is the exciting parts of it. Also the incredible health improvements. All my health problems gone and then the greatly improved quality of sleep and the very nice dreams that comes with it each night.
My point is I don't think **indulgence** is part of God's original plan for men and women. Although He said, you can eat whatever that is edible, he didn't say, "get crazy", "go nuts", "fill your bellies til you can't no more".
Indulgence is what causes excessive cravings. Indulge more, crave more. Indulgence is an addictive drug. Even Christians are hooked on it, they have no more money left to invest it in God's Kingdom, they have all invested their money in the devil's machinery.
God also meant us to be self-sufficient and would only rely on Him not be over-reliant on the devil's system.
