The Lord's day is a celebration of Christ's resurrection, the Sabbath is a celebration of God's rest. They occur on different days and have a different focus. today they are often conflated as one day, and although abstractly this is not a problem, it tends to promote confusion about the purpose of the two days and how they work under Christ....Because that's reserved for the Sabbath.
Comments and criticisms are welcomed.
"Under the law" does not mean that we are now free to break God's law according to the new covenant scriptures *Romans 3:19. No one is "under the law" if they have received Gods forgiveness for their sins and no longer continuing in them. We are only "under the law" according to Romans 3:19 if we stand before God guilty of breaking the law because the role of God's law in the new covenant is to give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken *Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4 and to lead us to Christ so that we might be forgiven through faith and made free to be born again to walk in God's Spirit *Galatians 3:22-25; Romans 8:1-4; Romans 3:31; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 3:6-9. God's 4th commandment of the 10 commandments which is the Sabbath commandments *Exodus 20:8-11 is one of God's 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken and according to James if we break anyone of them we stand guilty before God of sin *James 2:10-11. There is no scripture in all of God's Word that says God's 4th commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day of rest. This is a man-made teaching and tradition that has led many either knowingly or unknowingly to break God's 4th commandment. Jesus says if we knowingly follow man-made teachings and traditions that break the commandments of God we are not worshiping God in Matthew 15:3-9. The question then we should all be considering is who do we believe and follow; God or men?Is part of the reason some reject Sunday because we are told by the ancient Church that the Sunday is the primary day of worship and Gathering for the Church instead of the bible explicitly mandating it to us? If so, this reasoning implies that the Church has been fundamentally mistaken on this topic since at least the second century. Not that there haven't been eccentrics throughout the centuries who claim that Saturday ought to be the primary day of worship, but It would neglect the testimony of the Church in favour of a particular interpretation of scripture.
The Church subsequent to the New Testament used that book as it's primary model for worship and liturgical orientation rather than the Old Testament. Hence why we don't follow Hebrew customs, because we're not under that old law, but under Christ's. Hence everything in the historic Churches liturgy revolves around Christ, his specific actions, his specific teachings. That's why there's a Sunday of the prodigal son. That's why Sunday, the day Christ rose from the dead has been treated with so much reverence.
If those who insist on Saturday worship refuse to recognize the Christological approach of the Church in even this, then we are of two completely different minds. For us Sunday worshippers, Christ is at the center of everything.
That quote (Isaiah 58:13) was from the Old Testament (old covenant). We are in a new covenant (New Testament) now.The 7th day Sabbath is the only one that is called "The Holy Day of the Lord" in the Bible. Isaiah 58:13
That is never said of "week day 1" or what the Bible calls "the first day" of the week.
That phrase, 'under the law', means simply that you must obey the law. The phrase, 'the law', means the entire law, the Torah. The law never means just the ten commandments or the two greatest commandments."Under the law" does not mean that we are now free to break God's law according to the new covenant scriptures *Romans 3:19. The apostles and Jesus were subject to the entire law being Jews.
Gentiles were never under the law.
Acts 15:19-20
Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles, but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood.
Do you listen to the apostles or do you do what your church tells you to do?
Hey brother I have a question in regards to Rom 3:19. Is there a difference between the phrases in the law and under the law?No. "Under the law" does not mean that you must obey the law. Where is that scripture? As posted earlier to be "under the law" according to Romans 3:19 means we stand before God guilty of breaking the law.
Romans 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law said, it said to them who are under the law: THAT EVERY MOUTH MIGHT BE STOPPED AND ALL THE WORLD MAY BECOME GUILTY BEFORE GOD.
The context of Romans #:19 is Romans 3:9-19 which Paul says both Jews and Gentiles are all under sin *Romans 3:9 and there is none righteous no not one *Romans 3:10.
The role of God's law in the new covenant is to give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken *Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4 and to lead us to Christ so that we might be forgiven through faith and made free to be born again to walk in God's Spirit *Galatians 3:22-25; Romans 8:1-4; Romans 3:31; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 3:6-9.

Depends on the Greek 1722: ἐν context that determines its application. In the case of Romans 3:19 the reference "in" or "under" is to the law but within scripture and chapter context the application is to the whole world becoming guilty before God of breaking the law (sin) *Romans 3:9-20. Paul stating why in v20 that the role of the law is to give us a knowledge of what sin is.Hey brother I have a question in regards to Rom 3:19. Is there a difference between the phrases in the law and under the law?
Hello LGW, the law showed us that we are sinners...So being under the law is being under the ' power of Sin' both Jews and Gentiles..as it written; All have sinned and fall short of Glory of God...No. "Under the law" does not mean that you must obey the law. Where is that scripture? As posted earlier to be "under the law" according to Romans 3:19 means we stand before God guilty of breaking the law.

Do you WANT to sin?So by your philosophy there is no law and we are free to sin?
Was Luke uninspired and needs to be moved to the Apocrypha? There is no biblical support for Jonah being in the belly of the fish for only one and one half days. Jesus also described a day as having 24 hours; 12 hours of daylight, 12 hours of darkness. Three days and three nights is the time frame of the event.
Who is WE kemosabe? There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says God's 4th commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day of rest.
First you need to define what sin is. We are told sin is the transgression of the law 1 John 3:4. Previously you indicated there is no law as it was made only to Jews. Now you’re saying there is sin so that means there must be laws.Do you WANT to sin?
That is the true question. Follow the desires of your heart. If you have an old-man heart, then you cannot help but violate God's Law. If you have a new heart, born from above by the Holy Spirit then you will desire not merely the letter of the Law, but the spirit of the Father ... to love what God loves and hate what God hates.
I trust that you are not wearing blended fabrics or cutting your hair!
Interesting idea. .. is there a Bible text that actually says that.?

No one ever could keep all "613"...that is a fallacy
No one could keep or was required to keep the entire law...that is a fallacy...it was impossible....
