  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why the international space station is a hoax from a engineer's pov

Yes, I did. She moved her arm and that set her body moving up. All of the correcting after that was just reactions to other movements and her showing off.

The reason it is similar to zero g flights is because the whole purpose behind zero g flights are to simulate the weightlessness of space.

Well, I have actually talked to astronauts and cosmonauts when they were in orbit! The ISS has an amateur radio station onboard, as did the old space station Mir, as did (sometimes) a space shuttle. I talked to an astronaut on the ISS a few years ago. I trust everyone has heard of Doppler shift. Doppler shift is pretty hard to fake with a radio signal. It is pretty hard to claim a signal is terrestrial if there is Doppler shift and you have to aim your antenna at a moving point in the sky.

The ISS also has a digital station that relays signals on earth. I have actually seen the ISS overhead, and at the same time seeing digital messages the ISS relayed.

I have looked through a telescope to see the ISS and the space shuttle in orbit.

Years ago, I spoke with a cosmonaut on the Mir space station. I had no Internet or computer. I would make an observation or two of the Mir and from there I could make rough calculations of when it would be overhead. I used to monitor their non-amateur radio communication as well - I could tune to 143.625 MHz and hear their transmissions to a ground station. Again, there was this thing called Doppler shift that was noticeable.

The first manned object in space I monitored was the Salyut 7 space station.

I have had a lot of fun over the years tracking, observing, monitoring and sometimes even communicating with manned spacecraft (as well as unmanned satellites). This is all very real and much more fun than reading odd conspiracy theories on the Internet.

Did you actually watch the first video or what?!?!?!? What about caddy when she is just standing there....and start floating sideways rapidly?

Nice try though.

You'll note that she drops towards the bottom of the module and almost certainly pushes off very slightly with her leg. Unles this is done directly through her centre of gravity she will experience angular acceleration. This is what causes her to rotate.

The fellow is supposed to be an engineer, but all I hear are words. I hear no numbers, I see no stress diagrams other than some of a bridge built in the Earth's gravitational field. (Which he does not explain!)

I would not go so far as to call him a liar for claiming to be an engineer, but I would question the credibility of any school of engineering that granted him a degree.

Bolding mine.

I only got a few minutes in before his huge blind spot became unbearable. His mind is set in stone for engineering at the bottom of a significant gravity well. The thought on virtually zero gravitational stress seems beyond his ken.

Darn my telescope... when I saw the ISS through it, now I know it was actually NASA lying through my refracting lens!

You need to recheck with a refracting scope that you make yourself.

Once you do that and have eliminated the last possible complaint (but remember you have to get the sane used for grinding and polishing yourself from a randomly selected beach, not any distributer) then I am authorized to send you your 'I'm part of the conspiracy' button.

Congratulations only one step to go!

Firstly, this is part of the evolution vs creation discussion...reason being that if something as fundamental as the space station is faked, what other "evidence" in evolution is also faked

I've seen it orbiting. I can get you the visual schedule.

Plus there are Christian astronauts that will confirm it's
existence. I've spoken with one and asked him questions
about the age of the moon, face to face.

I'm afraid his testimony trumps your engineer expert.

This is from a real engineer's point of view (watch the whole thing before commenting):

I am an engineer. If one of the engineers working for me had created this, I would fire them for incompetence.

Sea plankton discovered outside space station - GrindTV.com
Russian scientists conducting experiments on the outside surface of the International Space State made a puzzling discovery, one made all the more remarkable because it’s something that whales eat.

Samples taken from illuminators and the surface of the space station were found to have traces of sea plankton and other microorganisms, but scientists are baffled as to how they got there, the Russian chief of the orbital mission told the ITAR-TASS News Agency.

The answer is quite easy:

Also, while we're at it, here is Gemini 8's "sideways" ascent:

Here is one more (make sure to focus on the land to the left):

Gee, I wonder what the the Richter scale read!

Saturn and Three Moons - Credit: NASA/JP - Saturn and three moons, Tethys, Dione and Rhea, seen by a Voyager spacecraft on August 4, 1982, from a distance of 13 million miles.

So, per NASA, this is an actual photo taken by a Voyager spacecraft in 1982 from a distance of 13 million miles. All done with 1977 technology (the same year the apple computer II was introduced)...... Wow!

Do you freak out when the moon follows you in the car, too? This clip is taken from a moving plane. Don't tell me you don't understand how perspective works.

The entire picture is rippling, not just the land to the left. Ever hold a video camera to a cathode TV set?

Yes. Photography has been around for a very long time.
