How so?

Besides, wasn't the point that people would die for what they believed in part of your argument of making Jesus a more valid figure to follow?
I'm not going to argue with you, Syd.

Either show me Hercules' martyrs or this conversation is over.

Anybody who has a subtitle "Science can take a hike", while using a computer to transmit information across the world via a server, shouldn't be taken seriously. Maybe that's the point...

He's joking around you know? Being a smart alek. It's funny. I like it.

And anyone who uses God's footstool (the earth) to argue against God's existence shouldn't be taken seriously either.

I find it ironic that people use God's hardware that He created in Genesis 1 to build a computer to tell others God doesn't exist.

Hold on a minute, I was making the argument that just because a person has

1. People willing to die for them
2. Many people willing to follow them

does not mean that whatever concept/idea/belief system or whatever is correct.

I did not join this to discuss the validity of Hercules over Jesus but that the argument itself, that people choosing to die for something they believe in, does not make whatever it is in any way correct.

Hold on a minute,
No, I won't hold on a minute.

I'll say this one ... last ... time.

Either show me Hercules' martyrs or this conversation is over.

(And I want specific names too.)

No, this is his belief system. This is something that he is pretty clear on with everyone.

Otherwise he is one of the biggest trolls that I have ever seen to have put on this facade for years to make people upset.

You can't even address a single point I made, either you realize I am right or are struggling to come up with one on the spot.

I already said I was not joining that debate between the two, but the argument for those two at all I think is not valid.

Since you cannot answer, this argument is over.

You must either have lurked for years, or have posted under another name?

(Or I'm missing something.)

1) Who is arguing against God's existence?
2) Why would a watery planet circling a star on the edge of the Milky Way galaxy in the Virgo Cluster be referred to as the footstool of the Creator?

I once skipped like 100 pages or something and saw stuff from you on other topics ( I try to not do too many repeats of old discussions, but there was just so many I decided not to bother.) If I do a repeat oh well, no one has to respond.

Thanks for sticking up for me!

I appreciate it.

Are you suggesting that martyrdom doesn't add weight to the veracity of the existence of Jesus over Hercules?

I won't suggest it. I'll flat out state it.

Hercules is, off course, just an example.

Would you feel more comfortable if I would choose some mayan god instead? People dieing for the religion seems to impress you, so...

If someone has to stoop to using such comparisons, I would say they are trying desperately not to believe.

You people should really read what the posts are saying instead of just jumping on your horse the second you see a word you don't like.

I wasn't comparing any religious figure to any other figure.

I was responding to the point that someone wrote that the quran doesn't accept the divinity of jesus. As if that somehow makes the quran wrong.
As a counter example, I stated that the bible doesn't accept the divinity of Hercules.

The point being, that it is looking at the quran through bible-believing goggles. Which I stated in the OP of this thread to not be a valid way of judging the books objectively.

In short: you're arguing against a point I did not even make.

Well, I said the conversation was over unless I got the name(s) of martyrs for Hercules ...

But I'm not going to let this snippet pass w/o comment:
People dieing for the religion seems to impress you, so...
You bet it impresses me.

And it impresses God too.

Hebrews 11:38 ( Of whom the world was not worthy: )

I find this incident very touching.

Computer hardware was created in Genesis 1? Was this stuff then carried in the ark so as not to get destroyed in the flood?

And millions upon millions of people wrote about Einstein. And the guy didn't even turn water into something else.

Yet nobody wrote about jesus.

Lot's of people wrote about him. Not surprisingly it tended to be ones who were interested in his life, and that makes them "biased" according to atheists.

Everybody who ever wrote anything did so because they had a motive, and not because they were trying to write for the benefit of future historians.
